Datacom celebrated International Women’s Day this week by welcoming Megan Dalla-Camina to speak to our teams in person and online. Globally recognised in women’s leadership, Megan is a best-selling author and founder of Women Rising, a global movement and platform redefining how women lead, live, and thrive. Megan shared strategies for managing our inner critic and stressed the importance of building confidence and self-belief. She emphasised the values of clarifying what we truly want and encouraged us to identify and address the biases that affect our lives. More than 500 team members joined by livestream across our offices, before continuing the conversation locally. International Women’s Day is a call to action to take action and continue to #MarchForward for a gender equal future. It’s the close connection Councils have with their communities that makes working with them so rewarding, says Datacom’s new Director of Datascape John Wiggs. “What I really like is that the people in councils are quite passionate about being involved with the community and have a genuine desire to make a difference.” Previously at Civica, John now leads Datacom’s Local Government Datascape business across Australia and New Zealand. Datascape provides enterprise software, with 90 councils to date, using it to provide efficient and sustainable services including mission-critical services such as fire prevention in Australia and water in New Zealand.
