Endurance. Resilience. Teamwork. These aren’t just qualities of elite athletes—they define the spirit of seafarers who keep global trade moving. They are also key ingredients of the GAC Spirit, which Herman Jorgensen, Richard Rodrigo, and Julian Kordek display as they train hard for 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 on 15-18 May. This two-day endurance challenge on the 𝙄𝙯𝙪 𝙋𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙖, 𝙅𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙣, will push teams of three to trek, run, and navigate tough terrain with breathtaking views of Mount Fuji. Participants taking on the 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐞 will cover 𝟐𝟎.𝟑 𝐤𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬, 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟏,𝟎𝟑𝟎𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, and navigate steep ascents and descents—the equivalent of climbing 𝟑𝟏 𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬 and taking 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟑𝟏,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬 in just 𝟑-𝟒 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬. More than just a race, this event, organised by The Mission to Seafarers, raises funds to support the welfare of mariners worldwide. Seafarers go the distance for us. Now, it’s our turn to support them.
