✨ An afternoon well-spent with inspiring women who uplift other women at the "She Shines - Raising Women's Voices" event hosted by Yoga for Mums and UOB in celebration of International Women's Day 🌷 On the 5th March 2025, our team at Thrive Well were invited to be part of the "She Shines - Raising Women's Voices" as a partner organization to raise awareness and provide mental health support to the attendees. Focusing on supporting women to flourish and lead a fruitful and purposeful life, our team had the opportunity to hear from many women about their thoughts on which aspect in life they are flourishing and some interesting stories shone through during these conversations. From living a fulfilled and purposeful life and having the 5th grandchild on the way, to overcoming a challenging health setback that brought gratitude to shift one's perspective, the event was buzzing with wonderful stories of resilience, support, gratitude and love for people and the support from women to women. Our team leaned into the research by Dr. Nadine Burke Harris, a Canadian-American paediatrician who linked ACEs and toxic stress with harmful effects to health later in life, and shared more about some tips and tricks on Stress Busting - a good way to reduce stress and support the event attendees to increase their resilience. We were also delighted to offer free mental health screening, providing a safe space for women to reflect on their mental health and take the first step toward self-care. The over-subscription of our mental health screening was proof to our team that we are indeed aligned in direction with our partners in building resilience together. Our team learned a lot from the panel discussion sharing featuring Caleen Chua, the Founder of Yoga for Mum & Enliven Women, Hui Ming Ho, the Executive Director, Country Head of Business Banking, UOB Malaysia, Dr Ng Lee Li, General Manager of Women and Children Services at Sunway Medical Centre, as well as Chung Lynn Mac, Director and Group CEO of Nando's Malaysia and Singapore, as they shared their stories of hope and resilience in balancing life and commitment in the modern life. Thank you Yoga for Mums for inviting our team to be a part of this event. We look forward to partnering with you to support one another to raise women's voices, resilience and shine brighter together! #internationalwomensday #womenempowerment #womensupportwomen #sheshines #wearethrivewell #selfcare #gratitude #flourish #mentalhealthforall

"Every woman's success should be an inspiration to another. We're strongest when we cheer each other on" - Serena Williams The International Women's Day is celebrated on the 8th March every year to celebrate women's accomplishments across various fields, reminding us of the contributions and effort put into shaping our reality and inspiring everyone to continue the work that still lies ahead to creating a better future. As an organisation on a mission to Building Resilience Together, we at Thrive Well understand the importance of empowerment. In line with the principle of choice in our trauma-informed approach, empowerment allow individuals to take control of their lives, make decisions that affect their well-being, and feel motivated, productive, and fulfilled, leading to increased personal satisfaction and a more positive impact on their surroundings. And a good way to begin this is by honouring every version of ourselves — Our past, present, and future. Work has changed significantly in recent years, from the sudden shift to remote work in 2020 to evolving strategies like returning to the office or downsizing space. These rapid changes can affect employees' mental health, creating uncertainty, stress, and burnout if not managed with support and care. Our team at Thrive Well were honoured to be invited by Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) to be a part of the FMM Business Best Practices Webinar on the 5th December to share on 𝙁𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙮𝙚𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜. From the poll in the session, the biggest barrier faced when it comes to seeking mental health support was the 𝘧𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘫𝘶𝘥𝘨𝘦𝘥, followed closely by 𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘵𝘴. Thrive Well's Managing Director and Clinical Psychologist Ms. Ellisha Othman and Clinical Director and Counselling Psychologist Ms. Ivy Tan shared about mental health, sources of stress, some signs to look out for when someone in the workplace may need to seek support, as well as how Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help organisations to boost productivity, enhance job satisfaction and create long-term success. Organisational culture matters even more in the fast-paced, multigenerational workplace of today. It is vital for organisations to develop strategies to create a resilient and inclusive workplace. Thank you Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) for the opportunity to share on this important topic. We look forward to supporting organisations to achieve their goals through effective and sustainable strategies to foster resilience and employee wellbeing.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, women have been struggling even more to cope with multiple responsibilities such as managing household matters and caring for the family, with some even venturing into side businesses to further support the family financially. As such, the K.A.M.I. Sembang programme by Thrive Well provides women with basic psychosocial support in processing their experiences and equips them with the necessary skills to face challenges. Since becoming a WEPs signatory in 2022, Thrive Well has taken on an active role in being mindful of the specific needs of women; women participating in community programmes as well as our employees. Through our experience, we have an increased sense of understanding that adaptation is necessary to create a supportive environment for all to thrive. Explore the core of resilience in this case study: "Families on the Edge: Mental Health Support for Women to Create Better Communities" - developed in partnership with UNICEF and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
