“When we introduce new technology and drugs, we always ask ourselves: do these truly enhance quality at a justifiable cost? At IHH Healthcare, the answer is yes.” - Adj. Associate Professor Keith Lim, Group Head, Medical and Quality, IHH Healthcare. In our final HealthcareInsider dialogue of the year, we delved into ‘Quality in Healthcare’, exploring how continuous improvement, patient safety, and sustainable innovation drive our patient-first approach. Our panel of experts, featuring Adj. Associate Professor Keith Lim, Group Head, Medical & Quality, IHH Healthcare, Elizabeth Han, Group Head, Innovation & Transformation, IHH Healthcare, Lisa Maria Schwanke, Assistant Vice President, Medical Affairs & Quality, IHH HEALTHCARE MALAYSIA, Hui Hwa Koh-Minjoot, Head of Allied Health & Patient Experience, IHH HEALTHCARE SINGAPORE and Captain Sandhya Shankar, Chief of Nursing, Fortis Healthcare, shared perspectives on advancing healthcare quality through continuous service improvement, patient safety, innovation and sustainable practices. The discussion highlighted that quality care goes beyond clinical results; it encompasses the entire patient experience, ensuring safety and value at every step. From AI-driven financial counselling to setting systems and processes for fall prevention and infection control, every step strengthens the trust patients place in us, allowing us to deliver safer, more efficient care. In an era of rising healthcare costs, sustainability and value-based care are more vital than ever. Our efforts in reducing re-admissions, infections, and waste prove their value over time. Across our network in Malaysia, we have over 80 projects geared towards cutting redundancies, improving efficiency as well as waste reduction. Quality healthcare means better patient outcomes, enhancing patient experiences, and driving sustainable practices that support a healthier future for all. “Access to clinicians, regulatory experts, and patient groups is crucial for startups to validate their solutions and make a real impact,” shared Saurabh Patel, Vice President of Special Projects at IHH Healthcare, during his keynote at #TechInnovation 2024. In his talk, "Healthcare Innovation: Shifting from Treatment to Prevention," Saurabh spotlighted the transformative potential of proactive, prevention-based healthcare models powered by digital advancements. He emphasised how such innovations can lower costs and ease the burden on healthcare systems, especially in a place like Singapore, with its “holistic ecosystem backed by both government funding and private sector initiatives.” Saurabh underscored the power of collaboration in healthcare, encouraging technology start ups to sharpen their value propositions and team up with healthcare providers to create scalable, effective solutions. “Ultimately, this means faster, more effective healthcare solutions for patients,” he concluded, championing an approach to healthcare that doesn’t just treat but proactively prevents. #HealthcareInnovation #FutureOfHealth #IHHHealthcare #PrecisionHealth

🌍 Happy World Sustainability Day! 🌍 On this day, we reflect on our shared commitment to a healthier planet. In healthcare, while providing essential care, we recognise the importance of minimising our environmental footprint. That’s why we’re dedicated to initiatives like waste management and renewable energy solutions to reduce our impact. Through our partnership with Ditrolic Energy, we’re installing solar panels across all 16 hospitals in Malaysia, including Pantai Hospital Penang and Pantai Hospital Ampang. By 2025, we expect this initiative to reduce our energy consumption by around 4%, equivalent to 85 tons of carbon emissions each year. Our hope is that projects like these can inspire collective action, fostering a future where healthcare actively contributes to environmental preservation. Let’s commit to actions, big or small, that move us toward a greener, healthier future. 🌱💚 Watch the video here: https://lnkd.in/gt9kySS2 #CareForGood #Sustainability #SustainableHealthcare #TransformingHealthcare #IHHHealthcareMalaysia #HealthcareLeadership #IHHHealthcareLeadership #IHHHealthcare
