Scouts de Guatemala shine with international recognition for their environmental impact 🌿 Their EarthTribe initiative was recognised in the Mentes en Verde competition for its role in shaping young environmental leaders. Through hands-on challenges, Scouts took action on climate, biodiversity, and pollution, leading real change in their communities. With over 350,000 Scouts involved across Latin America, the initiative created a ripple effect, reinforcing commitments to sustainability and youth-led action. This recognition highlighted how Scouting empowered young people to drive solutions for a better planet. Gender equality isn’t just a conversation ✊💜 At #CSW69, we reinforced our commitment to ending gender-based violence and ensuring equal opportunities for all. Through education and community-led initiatives, we’re empowering young people to challenge harmful norms and advocate for change. This builds on our Strategy for Scouting and the recently adopted Resolution 2024-09, which strengthens our efforts to prevent gender-based violence and promote inclusivity in every aspect of Scouting. In Comoros, the Ticket to Life project is helping over 400 young people gain skills, education, and a renewed sense of belonging ⚜️ The project has been dedicated to empowering young people through vocational training and education. We’re proud to announce that the World Scout Bureau Africa Regional Office has launched the Digitalise Youth project! 📢 Digitalise Youth aims to strengthen online democratic participation, combat disinformation, and protect digital rights. Ahmad served as Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement from 2017 to 2024, the youngest person to hold the position in the organisation’s century-plus history. During this period, Ahmad’s leadership led to significant membership growth, totalling 57 million Scouts worldwide in 176 countries! Ahmad’s unique ability to inspire and connect with others was key to forming new strategic partnerships and securing additional resources to elevate Scouting’s profile. He spearheaded numerous initiatives that strengthened collaboration with non-governmental organisations and philanthropic institutions, including the Big Six Youth Organizations, Alwaleed Philanthropies, UNICEF, UN Environment, UN Foundation, FAO, KAICIID, and the World Health Organization. 👏 Please join us in thanking and congratulating Ahmad for his exceptional contributions! Scout Association of Guyana (SAG) marked 115 years of Scouting with the Eco-Impact: Cricket and Environmental Awareness event in Georgetown! 🎉 Over 300 Scouts gathered to celebrate this milestone while tackling environmental challenges through hands-on activities.
