Sobre nós
We believe in the value and God-given potential of every single person. We are called to demonstrate God’s love for those in need. This is how we follow Jesus Christ. We see a world where poverty, exclusion and crisis marginalise people. We also see the potential of these people and their communities to flourish despite their difficult circumstances.

Impact Africa Consulting Limited is collaborating with Dorcas International and its Africa country office to develop a comprehensive climate change strategy. Energizing discussions took place in Addis Ababa, fueling the passion of both our teams for action on #climatechange. We eagerly anticipate seeing Dorcas Aid drive the climate agenda forward. Companies that focus on climate change not only contribute to #environmental protection but also strengthen their resilience, competitiveness, and long-term viability in a rapidly changing world. #ClimateAction #Collaboration Heleen B. Today I had the opportunity to participate in a workshop hosted by the Ordem dos Advogados (Mozambican Bar Association), focusing on short-term legislative reforms for the Mozambican electoral process “Workshop de Auscultação para Adopção de Reformas a Curto Prazo a Serem Implementadas no Processo Eleitoral Moçambicano”. Engaging with and listening to knowledgeable experts has deepened my understanding of the law and electoral procedures as well as the historical context in which these were drawn up. Another key takeaway for me was the necessity of clarifying, within the legal framework, roles and responsibilities among actors and institutions involved in the electoral process. This is crucial to ensure transparency, accountability, and credibility in our upcoming elections. There is so much I could say about the workshop, but I will leave you with this thought-provoking insight: there is a need for us to shift our perspective on accountability. Instead of solely blaming perceived corrupt individuals and institutions, we must recognize our collective responsibility. These entities don't exist in isolation; they are shaped by our society and empowered by our collective actions. It's time to move beyond the blame game. As citizens, civil society members, youth, and women, we must actively engage and contribute to strengthening our democratic processes. We must shift the narrative and become proactive participants in shaping a better future for Mozambique, for our children, and for the generations that follow.

In particular, Mozambique's Cabo Delgado province is heavily affected by a complex humanitarian crisis, with ongoing conflict, climate-related problems and high levels of poverty. The conflict is a major driver of food insecurity, and the situation has worsened in northern Mozambique since the beginning of the year. More than 863,000 people - 32 per cent of the population - are estimated to be acutely food insecure in Cabo Delgado, where Dorcas Mozambique has implemented food security and WASH projects. ➡ Graça, Finance Officer at Dorcas Mozambique, takes a stand on this issue. Graça: 'I advocate for the right to food security because it is important to ensure that communities affected by natural and man-made disasters have access to safe, nutritious food. This right is an important mechanism to ensure nutritional security.’ #ForThoseInNeed #Mozambique #FoodSecurity #Nutrition #WASH

In Mozambique, over half of the population cannot access clean and adequate water. 💧 Dorcas Mozambique aims to strengthen this human right by supplying local businesses with the tools to deliver clean drinking water. We also make funds available in areas where there are no public facilities. Through awareness-raising and health messages, Dorcas Mozambique also promotes good hygiene and sanitation practices and teaches communities how to maintain water supplies - in close collaboration with municipal governments. 👉 Florencio: ‘This issue is important to me, because access to clean water is crucial for good health. Water, sanitation and hygiene is one of the three strategic pillars, and we aim to strengthen this human right in Mozambique.’ #StandUpForHumanRights #StandUpForThoseInNeed #Mozambique #WASH #ForThoseInNeed 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘢𝘴' 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘨𝘯. 📣 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 Yet, 3.5 billion people worldwide live without a safe toilet. The lack of toilets affects women and girls disproportionately, leading to health issues and school dropouts. Dorcas Kenya is working to improve this situation by installing SaTo Pans, which mechanically and hydraulically seal pit latrines, preventing flies, smell, and improving hygiene. Additionally, we train community health volunteers on behavior change and sanitation marketing so that they can help communities and educate them on these topics. The woman in the picture is a mason who received training on construction activities and built her own toilet, which now serves as an example for others. The volunteers and masons offer affordable solutions. A family can buy a SaTo Pan for eight euros and have it installed for five euros.
