Our Director, David Owumi, spoke at the APPOEMN Annual Event Industry Conference 7.0 on “Designing #Inclusive Events” following our #inclusive events course at Salt House. The event provided an opportunity to educate Nigeria’s leading event planners and managers on the role of inclusive design in transforming the experience of guests, clients, and sponsors. This will elevate our event industry to the next level. If you are interested in making your next event inclusive, contact us at +2347053067902. This is one of our facilitators Mr David Owumi. He reached out to me as past president of Appoemn. We realised that what he had to share was something we darely need to speak to in the event space. “Designing Inclusive Events -Strategies and Best Practices”. I will leave this event determined to advocate inclusivity in all events. At least I will start in Lagos” As a board member of a safety NGO- Strap and safe Child foundation and one of our focus this year is to provide an inclusive environment with people with disability - so here I go. I am so blessed to attend this masterclass. #safetyfirst #eventinclusivity David Owumi Bolanle Edwards

📚NEW PUBLICATION: The Impact of Tribalism on Business Growth: A Case Study of the #IgboMustGo Movement The #IgboMustGo movement serves as a stark reminder of the negative impact that tribalism can have on business growth. While tribal affiliations can provide support and solidarity within a community, they can also create barriers to economic progress when they are used to exclude or marginalise others. For businesses to thrive in a multicultural society, it is essential to foster an environment of inclusivity and meritocracy, where opportunities are available to all, regardless of ethnic background. Read our article on the dangers of tribalism on businesses and how to protect yours. Book an inclusion training for your team now! Pedestrian safety is important for all, especially persons with #disabilities. Pedestrian infrastructure should not be used by the #NigeriaPolice as garage for impounded vehicles. In most cases, we have roadside traders who use safety walkways as storefronts. This is unacceptable. Roads are not meant for vehicles, but all commuters according to our mobility preferences. This needs to #change!

#Socialjustice begins with #access and #freedom Millions of Nigerians rely on our roads daily, but for many, navigating these roads is a challenge due to a lack of accessibility. It’s time to ensure our streets, walkways, and public spaces are safe and accessible for everyone—regardless of physical ability. Join us in advocating for better road accessibility across Nigeria. Let’s push for more ramps, tactile pavements, accessible public transport, and clear signage that empowers all citizens to move freely and safely. Together, we can build a more inclusive Nigeria! 🇳🇬 JONAPWD NIGERIA David Owumi #InclusiveRoadsNG #AccessibilityMatters #SafeStreetsForAll #DisabilityRights #AdvocacyInAction

It starts with a simple question: How do we ensure persons with disabilities and vulnerable residents move safely with minimal support? The #RoadsForPeople project is a stakeholder-approach to advocate for improved road access for persons with disabilities and #pedestrians in Nigeria. In addition, our workshops enlighten affected persons on how to engage with the local and state #governments, as well as hold them #accountable for the quality of public roads made available.
