We're pleased to announce that TechHer has officially signed an MoU with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), completing a critical step in the fight against Online Gender-Based Violence (OGBV) in Nigeria. This partnership strengthens our collective efforts to ensure that women and girls can exist online without fear of harassment, abuse, or violence. For too long, OGBV survivors have faced barriers to justice from a lack of awareness to inadequate legal protection. By working directly with NHRC, we are building a structured, survivor-centred approach to digital rights enforcement. This means better reporting mechanisms, stronger accountability, and real consequences for perpetrators. We firmly believe digital rights are human rights and as such, we've made this bold commitment to protect women online and push for systemic change. So, if you or someone you know has experienced OGBV, report it anonymously at KURAMNG.ORG because everyone deserves to be safe online. #TechHerxNHRC #DigitalRights #EndOGBV #OnlineSafety

What good is free internet if half the world can’t safely participate? Behind every statistic of women leaving online spaces due to harassment are stories of silencing, deliberate exclusion, and an assault on their fundamental rights. Online Gender-Based Violence (OGBV) systematically undermines women's freedom, voice, and participation in the digital world. That’s why we developed KURAMNG.ORG, a platform where survivors of OGBV can report incidents, access free legal and support services. This Women's History Month, we’re standing against the rising tide of digital abuse. But we can’t do it alone. Whether as a partner amplifying our message, a volunteer lending your skills, or a policymaker driving real change, your role matters. Ready to shape a safe internet with us? 📑 New Policy Brief Out! Uganda’s Sexual Offences Bill 2024 although recognisant of sexual violence, fails to fully address Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (#TFGBV), leaving survivors without clear legal protection. But there's a chance to change that. In a recent meeting with Uganda’s Parliamentary Committees on Legal & Gender Affairs, Pollicy together with Collaboration on International ICT Policy for East and Southern Africa (CIPESA) and Gender Tech Initiative Uganda highlighted these legal gaps and the urgent need for reform. Our latest policy brief unpacks how the Sexual Offences Bill 2024 can offer stronger safeguards against both physical and digital sexual violence. 🔗 Read the full brief: www.bit.ly/TFGBV_SOB24 #DigitalRights #GenderJustice #TFGBV #LegalReform

The SGBV Emergency Response Fund is back, and in collaboration with Education As A Vaccine, we are ensuring that survivors of sexual and gender-based violence get the urgent support they need. This Women’s History Month, as we champion the theme For ALL Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, Empowerment, we reaffirm that safety is a right, not a privilege. No survivor should suffer in silence, and no woman should face barriers to justice and support. Through this fund, we provide critical resources, legal aid, and psychosocial support because empowerment begins with protection, justice, and access to help when needed. If you or someone you know needs support, reach out today. - You can access the ERF by completing an application via one of the following options: Fill and submit a fund request via: i. It's been an incredible year since I joined the TechHerNG family. As I celebrate this milestone, I'm filled with gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to an amazing team. Over the past 12 months, I've had the privilege of working on vital projects that promote digital literacy and online safety for women and girls. A highlight was our capacity-building workshop for persons with disabilities, in partnership with Inclusive Friends Association. We empowered participants with essential digital literacy skills, including Gmail communications, word processing, and presentation software. In September, I collaborated with TechHerNG's Head of Programmes Ade Akinnusi, to deliver a digital literacy and safety training in Kaduna. We partnered with CHAFHEIN to reach 50 out-of-school girls, equipping them with skills and knowledge to navigate the online world safely. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the importance of digital literacy and safety, and underscored TechHerNG's critical work in protecting women and girls in digital spaces. I'm proud to be part of an organisation dedicated to ensuring knowledge, access, and safety for women and girls. Our work on online gender-based violence is crucial, and I'm committed to continuing this important work. This past year at TechHerNG has been a transformative journey of personal growth and development. I've had the opportunity to work with an amazing team, learn from colleagues, and contribute to meaningful projects. Thank you, TechHerNG, for this incredible opportunity. I look forward to many more years of working alongside my incredible colleagues to foster a safer, more inclusive digital world for all. ##TechHerNG ## Digital Literacy ## UNDP ## NJFP FCT FELLOWS

To address online gender-based violence (OGBV) in Nigeria, our partner TechHerNG developed and deployed Kuram, an online response platform designed to help marginalised groups when reporting and seeking redress for OBGV cases. As they expand across Nigeria’s 36 states, TechHer is building a volunteer network of lawyers to support access to justice for OGBV survivors. If you're an attorney committed to offering survivor-focused legal and psychological support to those experiencing OGBV, apply to join the network today: https://lnkd.in/e4Ch4pc5

Starting this new month by reflecting on our 2025 retreat, which centered on ‘Culture.’ Why culture, especially with the flux and uncertainty not-for-profits are facing? Why not fundraising or collaboration or any of those? Well, Peter Drucker wasn’t wrong when he said, “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” We know (we have realised) that we can have the best-laid plans, the most ambitious goals, and all the right resources—but if our culture is misaligned, it will all crumble. #Culture isn’t just about values pasted on office walls; it’s about how people behave when no one is watching. It’s the unspoken rules, the way decisions are made, and the level of trust within a team. A toxic culture will undermine the best strategy, while a strong culture—how people feel about their roles, how they talk to each other, the investment that delivers even outside office hours, and the environment that allows them to try out ideas without fear—will win, even when plans change. I'm excited about March and the opportunity to work on things that matter to us. I'll mention three. - The SGBV Emergency Response Fund: Delivering (with Education As A Vaccine) emergency support to individuals and organisations in 24 hours following a successful review of their applications currently supported by #GlobalFund - The launch of our Volunteer Lawyer Network supported by Luminate - Partnerships with the justice system in Nigeria to accelerate justice and remediation for survivors of technology-facilitated gender-based violence. As always, if you want to collaborate on any of these, please DM TechHerNG or email hello at techherng dot com Let's do it. Let's get it. #OnlineViolence #TfGBV
