Samen met Dutch Green Building Council en andere partners heeft Altera bijgedragen aan een praktische handreiking om de bouw- en vastgoedsector te ondersteunen in de overgang naar circulaire verduurzaming.     We are proud to announce that both the Altera Retail Fund and the Altera Residential Fund have once again confirmed their strong positions in the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) 2024. The Altera Retail Fund, focused on food and convenience, has been named the most sustainable retail fund in the Netherlands for the third consecutive year. Additionally, the Altera Residential Fund has maintained its strong position. Since the introduction of the GRESB star rating, both funds have consistently achieved the maximum rating of five stars every year since 2019. Jaap van der Bijl, CEO of Altera, explains: “GRESB allows us to evaluate and compare our strategy and the results we have achieved. Over the last 13 years, we have been participating in the GRESB benchmark with our funds. The 2024 results have once again confirmed that Altera has been making a valuable contribution for many years and we are very proud of this fact. Our strategy focuses on achieving returns in two ways: financially and with respect to ESG. We are committed to developing sustainable buildings and making existing real estate more sustainable, while at the same time creating value for all our stakeholders: our investors, our tenants and society as a whole.” Rudy Verstappen, Team Lead ESG, adds:  “At Altera we are striving to make our portfolios Paris Proof by 2040.     Last week, the Dutch Green Building Week (DGBW) took place, organized by the Dutch Green Building Council, with the theme; Navigating Together. At Altera, we strongly believe in our investment strategy, which fully integrates ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance). This approach not only delivers sustainable returns but also has a positive impact on our shareholders, tenants, and society. For us, sustainability is a collaborative effort, and that’s why we are proud to be a partner of the DGBC. During the DGBW, we hosted an inspiring boat tour on the IJ in Amsterdam. We passed by our complexes named Costa Rica and Argentinië and continued to the recently completed Nautisch NDSM complex. Here, participants were given a tour of the nature-inclusive rooftop garden and had the opportunity to visit two of our rental apartments on the 18th floor. We would like to thank all attendees for their participation. The boat tour provided a valuable opportunity to explore the social aspect of ESG alongside peers, partners, and other interested parties, with a special focus on collaboration. #realestate #amsterdam #esg

    Altera is pleased to announce that the Benelux901 project on Beneluxlaan in Utrecht has reached its highest construction point. Scheduled for completion in mid-2025, this residential tower will include 200 mid-rent apartments, comprising two-bedroom and three-bedroom units, as well as 35 designated for senior housing. Additionally, the development will provide 600 m² of commercial space and 87 parking spots, including options for shared cars to encourage sustainable transportation. Sustainability is a key focus of Benelux901. With an A+++ energy label, the building features a green retention roof designed to reduce heat stress, manage water, and promote biodiversity, aligning with the sustainability objectives of Altera and the City of Utrecht. Erwin Wessels, CIO of Altera, remarks, “At Altera, we are committed to projects that not only meet the demand for housing, but also contribute to wider social and environmental goals.     Altera has let 685 m² of retail space at the Sint Jorisplein shopping centre in Amersfoort to Scapino. The retail unit will be delivered to Scapino in September 2024 and the store is expected to open its doors on 10 October 2024. A long-term lease has been agreed with the tenant. Altera CIO Erwin Wessels: “The addition of Scapino further strengthens the range of retail outlets in the shopping centre. Given Sint Jorisplein’s target demographic, we are confident that Scapino can find great success operating a store here.”   About Sint Jorisplein The Sint Jorisplein shopping centre is the ideal starting point for a day’s shopping in the historic centre of Amersfoort. In terms of letting options, the shopping centre presents a good proposition compared to the shopping streets in the historic city centre, as it offers large units and can therefore accommodate brands such as H&M, Sting and C&A. In addition, the car park beneath the shopping centre (let on a long-term lease to Q-park) is located in the very centre of Amersfoort.   Cushman & Wakefield assisted in concluding the lease.     Altera has further expanded its retail portfolio with the acquisition of a convenience retail investment at Molenplein in Heerenveen. The complex comprises three retail units with a Jumbo and Aldi supermarket, an Action non-food discount store and five residential apartments above the stores.   The complex was built in 1988 and renovated in 2016, when the retail area underwent a complete makeover. It occupies a strategic location directly adjacent to Heerenveen’s main shopping area. By the end of this year, solar panels will be installed on the roof of the Aldi supermarket, adding to the existing solar panel array on the Jumbo supermarket’s roof.Adjacent to the supermarkets there is a car park which serves as a primary entry point for shopping centre visitors. In addition, the presence of several fresh food stores close by enhances the overall shopping function. Jaap van der Bijl, Altera CEO: “The addition of the shops at Molenplein in Heerenveen has boosted the share of convenience real estate in our portfolio to more than 90%. This strategic expansion supports our investment strategy, which aims for a stable direct return, less sensitive to e-commerce and cyclical changes, and contributes to social cohesion in the neighbourhood.” The vendor, De Hoge Dennen Vastgoed, was advised on the commercial aspects of the transaction by BRIKKS and Cushman & Wakefield, while Lubbers en Dijk Notarissen provided legal expertise.
