Bellingcat and journalists from the Kyiv, Kharkiv and Paris bureaus of AFP investigated the destruction of the Ukranian border city Vovchansk following Russia’s invasion. An analysis of satellite imagery suggests that 60 percent of buildings in the city have been completely destroyed. Partial damage was observed on a further 18 percent of buildings, leaving just 22 percent of the city where damage has yet to be detected as of late September 2024. In their latest investigation, Bellingcat researchers Kolina Koltai and Foeke Postma used satellite imagery to show activity on land bought by Cards Against Humanity. Elon Musk’s SpaceX has been accused of trespassing on the plot of land for more than six months as per a lawsuit filed by US game company, Cards Against Humanity and announced on September 19, 2024. Bellingcat’s new financial investigations team explores the bizarre streams of online gambling company 1xBet with our publishing partners Josimar. The company, sponsors of Barcelona FC and PSG, is allowing gamblers to bet on tournaments located in areas it is restricted from operating in, organised on an industrial scale. Featuring amateur sports separated by curtains to strange arcade-like games.
