𝗢𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝘀𝗲𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗶𝗸𝗲! For more than a century Boskalis has been known as a dredging and civil contractor and maritime services provider. With our specialized equipment we operate both on land and at sea. Last week a third 'playing field' was added to that. Because for the past eight days, 30 colleagues have been cycling the Tour for Life – a very challenging bike ride that not only covered 1,200 kilometers but also involved climbing more than 19,000 meters in altitude. In this eight-day gran fondo from Italy to the Netherlands, participating teams raised money to fight cancer through the Daniel den Hoed Foundation (Daniel den Hoed Fonds). In recent months, participating colleagues have not only prepared themselves physically, but have also organized various fundraising activities together with the support team to raise sponsorship money. Including a generous donation from Boskalis, this resulted in a total amount of 251,000 euros for the Daniel den Hoed Foundation. We congratulate all participating Boskalis colleagues on their top performance during this Tour for Life! A special thanks goes to the Boskalis colleagues (six on the road and one in the Netherlands) who supported the cycling team before and during the tour! #boskalis #creatingnewhorizons #tourforlife #team4life #fundraising #fightcancer #danieldenhoed #erasmusmccancerinstitute

𝗕𝗼𝘀𝗸𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆: 𝗧𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲  At Boskalis, we are committed to keeping our oceans and beaches clean. Our long-standing sponsorship of the North Sea Foundation’s (Stichting De Noordzee) Beach Cleanup Tour along the entire Dutch coast exemplifies our dedication to this vital cause, alongside the numerous cleanups organized by our colleagues on projects around the world.   We are proud of the efforts during the Boskalis Beach Cleanup Tour Family Day, where approximately 300 colleagues and their family members came together to make a difference. Today, they successfully cleared a stretch of the Dutch North Sea coast between Wassenaar and Katwijk of 108 kilos of waste.   A huge thank you to all our colleagues and their families for their tireless efforts in keeping our oceans and beaches clean! 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗽 As dredging professionals, we protect coastal areas, construct ports and waterways and reclaim land using our specialized vessels. To this end, we often dredge large volumes of sand, clay and silt and in most instances our vessels have quite some room to maneuver to carry out their work, but there are exceptions. A recent example is the dredging work by our Strandway in the Port of Antwerp. For the redevelopment of the Europa Terminal, a project being carried out by Boskalis and partners Artes Group and HERBOSCH-KIERE, our trailing suction hopper dredger had to fill the area along the quay with sand. This work was executed with extreme precision because the available room to maneuver in the port area – which remains accessible to shipping traffic during the work – was very limited.   #boskalis #creatingnewhorizons #strandway #dredging #portdevelopment #portofantwerpbruges #belgium

𝗢𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝘆𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆-𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗦𝗩 𝗕𝗢𝗞𝗔 𝗗𝗮 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶 Our diving support vessel (DSV) BOKA Da Vinci recently completed its first project in hybrid mode. The vessel did so in the North Sea, where our saturation divers worked on subsea infrastructure on the seabed for our client Harbour Energy. While using its dynamic positioning system (DP2), the vessel switched from full use of generators to a hybrid mode that also drew energy from the newly installed batteries on board.   The BOKA Da Vinci was retrofitted with an Energy Storage System, or 'power pack' earlier this year. This reduces the vessel’s fuel consumption and associated carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions by an average of up to 20%, thereby contributing to Boskalis’ emission reduction targets. The systems also provide a power supply and energy storage facility while the vessel is docked, contributing to quieter and more efficient operations. In addition to the BOKA Da Vinci, its sister vessel DSV BOKA Atlantis has also been retrofitted with a similar 1200kWh battery pack, and more powerful offshore vessels will follow in the near future.   We would like to thank the crews of our vessels for their dedication.   #boskalis #creatingnewhorizons #bokadavinci #energystoragesystem #hybridvessels #northsea #sustainability #emissionreduction

𝗕𝗶𝗴, 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆! Boskalis' versatile fleet of vessels has been expanded with the addition of the Horizon Zenith. The large and relatively new DP2 vessel is deployed by our colleagues at Boskalis subsidiary Horizon Geosciences in the Middle East and can carry out both geophysical and geotechnical surveys offshore.   Currently, the Horizon Zenith is equipped with all the required equipment to conduct a variety of offshore surveys. The vessel also features a moonpool over which a heave compensated geotechnical drill rig can be placed from which cone penetration tests and geotechnical soil samples can be taken. In addition, there is a remotely operated vehicle on board that can be used to conduct visual surveys and the vessel is even capable of launching small boats to conduct surveys in the very shallow areas, less than ten meters deep. In short, the Horizon Zenith is enormously multifunctional.    #boskalis #creatingnewhorizons #horizongeosciences #horizonzenith #survey

𝗪𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝟰𝟬𝗞 Boskalis' cable-laying vessel BOKA Ocean has set sail for Ørsted's offshore wind farm Borkum Riffgrund 3 in the German part of the North Sea. The carousel on the deck of our youngest cable-laying vessel stores more than 40 kilometers of inter-array cable, which is being installed in 32 pieces to connect the wind turbines.   The 32 cables are not enough to connect all the wind turbines in the 913 MW offshore wind farm. Therefore, the cable-laying project has been divided into several campaigns. Earlier this year, the BOKA Ocean already installed 24 cables for Borkum Riffgrund 3, and later this year the vessel will carry out a third campaign, installing another 15 cables. 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸!   Ten years after our last major dredging project in Poland, we recently started another major dredging project in the country. Using our trailing suction hopper dredger Freeway, we are dredging sand and silt to both deepen and expand the access channel to the new Swinoujscie offshore terminal.    Poland wants to use the offshore terminal, located a stone's throw from the border with Germany, in the near future to load and unload components for offshore wind farms. This requires more space on the quay and more depth in the water. Thus, with our dredging work we are not only contributing to the development of port infrastructure, but also to the energy transition. A perfect synergy, which we hope to pursue frequently in the future.    Photo: PORR Polska (Zenon Maciejewski).   #boskalis #creatingnewhorizons #swinoujscie #poland #dredging #portinfrastructure #energytransition #freeway
