Over ons
The Circular and Fair ICT Pact is an international procurement-led partnership to accelerate circularity, fairness and sustainability in the ICT sector. The Pact aims to set up networks of procurers in every participating country or region. These networks will be connected internationally to share knowledge, work out harmonized criteria, guidelines and tools, and talk to the market about future developments. They will leverage their collective procurement power, in close dialogue with the ICT supply side, to accelerate the transition towards a circular and fair ICT sector.

Change sometimes creates resistance in an organization. 🤔 How can you avoid that from happening when introducing more sustainable ICT solutions? How do you get support for an alternative that might be (a bit) more expensive but has many sustainability benefits? 👉 Our Dutch and Flemish participants are organizing a webinar (in Dutch) on November 27th on how to create wide support in your organization when switching to more sustainable ICT products. Two organizations share how they have done this! Pilot testing to ensure acceptance by users and Total Cost of Ownership calculations to make a fair comparison, are two examples of topics that will be discussed. If you work for a procuring organization you are welcome to sign up for this webinar (in Dutch)! More info in the post below. ❓Did you know that the Circular and Fair ICT Pact has two types of participants? We have procuring participants and coordinating participants. This webinar is an example of work by our coordinating participants to support procurers to take next steps with regards to sustainable public procurement of ICT. More info on the Dutch Flemish Buyer Group ICT can be found here: https://lnkd.in/dPpVsfiZ Or by contacting ▶ Veerle Labeeuw or Marieke Weerdesteijn Circular & Fair ICT (CFIT) Pact - Circulair Inkopen - #mvi Els Verwimp Wouter Dujardin

✨Malmö stad has officially joined the Circular & Fair ICT (CFIT) Pact as a procuring participant. As one of Sweden’s largest public purchasers, Malmö brings its commitment to ethical and environmentally responsible practices to the ICT sector, supporting CFIT’s mission to create a more sustainable and fair market for ICT products. Ulrika Svallingson, Sustainability Coordinator for Malmö, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration: “The goals of CFIT closely match our own ambitions and challenges in sustainable ICT procurement. Public procurement has real potential to drive impactful change, especially when public authorities collaborate to amplify our shared goals.” By joining CFIT, Malmö not only reaffirms its commitment to sustainable procurement but also strengthens its role in advancing high standards in ICT purchasing. This collaboration will serve as a model for other cities and regions, showcasing how unified public action can support a more sustainable and equitable ICT market in Sweden and beyond. Read more about this collaboration here: https://lnkd.in/ezJvYPYD The Circular & Fair ICT (CFIT) Pact welcomes global, national, and local coordinating and procuring (public/private) organizations to join, regardless of their current progress in sustainable and fair ICT procurement. Would you like to contribute to fair and circular procurement of ICT? You can do so with the CFIT framework. This framework is developed by the Circular & Fair ICT (CFIT) Pact and defines ambitions around four core strategies with the goal of circular and fair ICT procurement. The four core strategies are: • Buy less • Buy better 👇 • Use better • Use longer As a buyer, how can you implement different commitments from the framework to buy better? To ensure sustainable ICT procurement, integrate comprehensive lifecycle criteria into tenders, engage the market early, and use appropriate tools to verify circular and social claims. These steps will ultimately enable more responsible and impactful purchasing decisions. The central Dutch government Category IWR (Sustainable workspace IT for the Dutch government) implemented these commitments and promoted the use of energy efficient devices and carbon and energy reduction policies in the value chain and in the use phase. This contributes to the government’s objective to be climate neutral in 2030. Want to learn from this case or the CFIT framework? Adapt it to fit your organization or learn from the other available examples! See: https://lnkd.in/ep6CDsmX. Did you know the environmental impact of improperly disposing of your #electronic devices? E-waste is one of the fastest-growing #waste streams globally, and the numbers are staggering. Properly segregating and disposing of e-waste can prevent harmful #chemicals from polluting our ecosystems and reduce the #carbon footprint of manufacturing new devices. Today is International E-waste Day, but let’s work toward making this day unnecessary by taking action now. #InternationalEwasteDay #EWasteDay We urgently need to address the overconsumption of natural resources, e-waste generation, and human rights violations across the entire ICT value chain. #Purchasers play a key role in shifting the market towards sustainable, circular, and fair ICT. By accelerating circular innovation, supporting new business models, extending product lifespans, and enabling repair, reuse, and recycling, purchasers can make a significant impact. Additionally, they can help ensure fair and safe working conditions across the supply chain. However, individual companies can’t make this shift alone. Consistent demand from ICT procurers is needed. That’s why the Circular & Fair ICT (CFIT) Pact has been launched. We invite you to join our global movement to procure sustainable, circular, and fair ICT https://lnkd.in/e23jpKAP Together, we can create the demand needed to drive positive change in the ICT industry. Through the power of #procurement, we can build demand for circular products and services. Learn how to take the first steps by exploring our #CFIT framework https://lnkd.in/eVNBddjn and join us in shaping a more sustainable future for ICT.
