Now is the time: FIFA World Cup 2026™ - Canada, Mexico and the United States, America’s 250th birthday, and the 2028 Summer Olympics will draw even more visitors to the U.S. We want to welcome them securely and efficiently. I am proud to have worked alongside my fellow U.S. Travel Association Commission members to produce recommendations for modernizing America’s travel systems to make U.S. travel more secure, efficient, and globally competitive. The need is clear: The U.S. share of the global travel market has fallen from nearly 13 percent to 9 percent in the past 10 years. The country ranks 17th among the top 18 global travel markets in terms of competitiveness. Private sector infrastructure leaders such as Ferrovial can play an important role in realizing these improvements quickly and without burdening public sector budgets.
