A key challenge for L&D is transforming knowledge into impactful experiences 💡 We recently ran a poll asking you if you believed that L&D should be more like marketeers, and the verdict was a clear yes! With 82% of respondents believing L&D should embrace a marketing mindset, it’s clear that simply having a great learning offer isn’t enough to capture employee attention 🤷♀️ Polly Ivanova from PUMA pointed out that the real “magic” in connecting content with learners lies in marketing and engagement activities 🎩 And we couldn’t agree more about the significance of connection and having fun while learning. By fostering a culture of continuous development through storytelling and innovation, we can make learning irresistible. Imagine training that feels less like a chore and more like an exciting adventure! 🚀 Sounds great, right? How are you adding vibrancy to learning in your organization? We’d love to hear your thoughts! 💬 #LearningAndDevelopment
A crucial part of personal development is self-insight 💡 Employees’ understanding of their strengths and weaknesses, will enable them to take actionable steps. Perhaps the results of an assessment revealed that an employee is great at conflict resolution. Not only can it be strengthened further, but that individual also has the power to teach others too ⚡ Let’s say a potential weakness of this same employee is time management. In a personal development plan, the manager can highlight this as an area of focus. Job Toebosch, Head of Test and Insights at GoodHabitz, came on the Moving Forward podcast to talk about this, plus much more 🎙️ If you’re interested , you can tune into the full episode via the link in the comments 👇 And be sure to post your thoughts on this topic in the comments 💬 #learninganddevelopment #learning #selfinsight #selfreflection

How can you make learning attractive for employees? 🤔 Because it’s one thing to emphasise the importance of learning. But getting buy-in from employees can be a significant challenge or hurdle for L&D departments. So, what does it take? Well, for Bas Puts, Global Head of Learning & Skill Architecture at Siemens, it comes down to 3 fundamentals 👇 1️⃣ Smooth Employees should be able to access the content on the platform or learning ecosystem that’s relevant to them in no more than 2 clicks! 2️⃣ Meaningful Employees understand why the learning content is relevant for them and for the progression within their role or for their team. 3️⃣ Inspirational Learning shouldn’t be boring. The content should spark motivation for employees to be curious and upskill themselves further. Is there anything missing from the list here? What else does it take to make learning engaging? Today is World Mental Health Day 🧠 And what’s super interesting is that within the realm of L&D, mental health is being viewed as a skill that employees can develop. It starts with someone learning who they are. Employees can begin seeing their own behaviour, and start being kinder to themselves about their patterns 💡 It’s a learning journey that develops with curiosity and a drive to understand how everything works. What is motivating you? ✅ What is driving the dynamics of the people around you? ✅ What are your personal values? ✅ What gives you energy and what doesn’t fit you? ✅ Fair to say that mental health and mental wellbeing continue to be topics of paramount importance in organisations – and perceptions are evolving all the time. Especially in the past few years, with the pandemic, for example. But that’s our take anyway! We want to bring the conversation over to you – vote in the poll below and let us know your thoughts in the comments 👇

Diversity and inclusion probably aren’t new topics to your organisation. BUT... What do these values mean when it comes to personal development? How do you make sure everyone is included when it comes to learning? When we sat down with Inclusive Strategist Hanan Challouki, she mentioned that it starts with understanding that diversity and inclusion are 2 different things 👇 “Diversity is about observing the differences between people. Whereas inclusion is about working with those differences to ensure that everyone feels respected, engaged, and heard, within an organisation.” She also mentioned that the path to truly fostering these values, comes down to a commitment across the entire company: “We are all colleagues working for the same organisation – everyone can make an impact. And you can’t just assume that all employees know how to behave in an inclusive way – that really takes training.” Speaking of inclusivity, feel free to swipe through the slides below, and discover what it takes to be an inclusive leader 🔽
