Today we gather again for the 10th edition of ADE Green - the pioneering conference on #sustainability, #innovation, and #socialchange within the electronic music industry. When at Amsterdam Dance Event, join us! We are kicking off the day with a session on CSRD. Moderated by Gerd-Jan Frijters, we will try to discover possibilities for European cooperation on CSRD, by developing a shared voluntary standard for events. We will also be discussing circular water solutions, in our “Water is Life” panel. Artur Mendes (Boom Festival), Marcus ten Zijthoff (Zwarte Cross), and Christiaan Elings (Green Deal Circular Festivals) dive deep into the consequences of water related EU regulation and give best practices for sustainable water management. Also, the Dutch Sustainability Ladder Events (DLE) is officially launched, and - of course - we will end the day with a round of drinks and time for networking. More info on all of the above will be published on our channels soon. Great day ahead! #ADE24 #GDCF #GreenDeal Ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat

“As music festival that has grown directly from social activism with the aim of encouraging positive social changes, EXIT has implemented numerous projects for youth development and promotion of peace, and the development of environmental awareness...”, says Ivan M. Petrovic of Exit Foundation. The REMEDIES conference of EXIT Foundation brought together organizations and the government to join forces for a multidisciplinary approach towards a greener festival industry. We are very proud to see that our members in the Green Deal Circular Festivals - like EXIT - are true frontrunners and pick up a leading role in all parts of Europe, to inspire a green movement in the sector and in society! https://lnkd.in/eP_ndm2q #GDCF #GreenDeal #festivals #sustainability Ida Siljanovic / Exit Festival

With the Green Deal Circular Festivals we are working with the City of Amsterdam and SAIL Amsterdam 2025 to find ways to scale up the technical and social innovations that have proven their success at festivals and open events. Are you working on a #sustainability-focused #innovation in the fields of food, mobility, circular construction, inclusion and accessibility, water, or extreme weather, and do you want to test this during an open event such as SAIL or the Amsterdam Marathon? The City of Amsterdam could be your launching customer. With the In Residence Open Events program, Amsterdam is looking for solutions to make the city more sustainable. To this end, open events are used as a test environment - a living lab - to experiment with innovations. Registration for the In Residence Open Events 2024 program is open: https://lnkd.in/eVja2f3d #GDCF #SAIL #Amsterdam #sustainability

Into The Great Wide Open festival is switching to zero-emission construction equipment this year. They are doing this by electrifying their entire fleet of manitous, knikmopsen, forklifts, gators, vans, and other rolling machinery. ITGWO's Tijl Couzij tells all about it in this article for Green Deal Circular Festivals: https://lnkd.in/eFsRyqhm To share and show the (im)possibilities, lessons and opportunities in practice, a demo day will be organised on Sunday 1. September at Into The Great Wide Open on the Dutch island of Vlieland. This is intended for those with a background in construction and build-up, municipalities and the festival sector. Music #festivals have a special chance to help the environment. By keeping up their green efforts, they can lead the way to a better future. As festivals find more ways to be eco-friendly, they inspire their ecosystem - including its visitors - take better care of our planet outside of the festival too. Read all about influencing and inspiring #visitors and supplier to reach #sustainability goals in our latest Circular Festival Update newsletter:

When festivals and suppliers share the same sustainability goals, they can do great things together. To identify what an organization can do to inspire suppliers, and to turn them from external stakeholders to close partners, we asked our GDCF member festivals what they do to engage their suppliers when working on sustainability topics, and how we can get our suppliers to engage in developing circular products and solutions. The key take-outs? • Team-up with other festivals • Find the right contacts • Be clear about goals • Educate your suppliers • Talk openly about common benefits • Balance ambitions with reality #GreenDeal #festivals #sustainability

With our member organizations we keep aiming for fully circular and climate-neutral festivals. We do this by sharing our knowledge, by collectively rethinking our processes and suppliers, and through launching and supporting pilots for sustainable innovations. Innofest supported this mission by testing sustainable innovations at three festivals last summer: Into The Great Wide Open, Lowlands (MOJO concerts), and Mysteryland (ID&T). One year later we see the impact of the efforts of these startups: ChefChain has been nominated for an A Greener Future Award , UPPACT B.V. Is now set to opening their first factory, and TOOPI ORGANICS secured substantial funding. Now that’s what we call successful pilots! https://lnkd.in/eup6BDU8 #GDCF #sustainable #festival #innovation

With 52 festivals in our Green Deal, we are looking forward for the season to begin! First up is one of our frontrunners - DGTL Amsterdam (Apenkooi Events / ID&T) - where we will be hosting a panel together with Ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat and Gemeente Amsterdam, to explore how the #festival sector is on its way to reach #sustainability goals. Important topics we will discuss today together with Marie Claire De Vries, Danka Oosterhof, Leonie Boon, Niels de Geus and Christiaan Elings. What is the role of supply partners, the government and policy makers in facilitating #climate neutral event production, and how can we upscale our festival #knowledge and findings towards cities, and to society as a whole? Looking forward to meeting all of you in Amsterdam today. Have a wonderful and inspiring festival summer!
