On the 25th of September part of our technical team got an informative course from STEFtec Education about safely working with electric vehicles according to NEN 9140. The course has equipped our team with all the knowledge and skills necessary for handling high-voltage systems in a safe way. We got aware of the possible danger of high-voltage, and we got to learn on how to enhance safety around it. One key takeaway was the importance of not just focusing on your own safety but also being mindful of the people around you in the workplace. We would like to thank Steffen Elgersma for sharing their expertise. At the end of the course everyone passed the course exam and received a certificate. Therefore we are now qualified to work with high voltages in a safe manner.  

We had our 'Next Lap event' yesterday where we could thank our partners for all their help in previous years. Also, we introduced the new Hydriven team for 2024-2025 and gave insight into our goals and expectations for this upcoming academic year. We are excited to tackle all the challenges that may come and always appreciate the enthusiasm and aid we get from our partners and supporters, as we aim to continue innovating and spreading the power of hydrogen! 🩵

Last week, we had a nice event with our fellow innovative teams in Twente: Electric Superbike Twente, Solar Boat Twente, RoboTeam Twente, Solar Team Twente, RISE - UT/VU Student Team, and DroneTeam Twente. We kicked off with a warm introduction followed by insightful presentations about collaboration opportunities, trainings and information sessions. Special thanks to VDL ETG Technology & Development B.V. for their technical presentation and TRIMM for their training in relations-management! The entire HyDriven team is enthusiastic to explore new partnerships and take our hydrogen-powered race car project to the next level. It's a wrap! Formula Student France could not have been more successful!🏆 For a full year where we gave everything to set a great result, and we did it. Let's relive Formula Student France, where we achieved more than we could have ever hoped for. After driving acceleration electrically, we raced on hydrogen during Skidpad, set a good time racing on hydrogen during Autocross, and drove the full 22km endurance race on hydrogen! We are really proud of our achievements this year and would like to thank all of our partners for making this possible. Our next step? WE DID IT! We drove on hydrogen at FS FRANCE, which makes us the first Formula Student team to participate with a self-built hydrogen system! 🏆 Before we were allowed to do so, every part of Nebula needed to be inspected to ensure safety. We started on Monday the 26th of August with the mechanical inspection, after which we had the accumulator inspection. On Tuesday the 27th of August, we had our electrical inspection and the second part of the mechanical inspection, including the egress test. After we passed the static inspections, Nebula was dynamically tested on safety in a tilt test ensuring the car will not fall over although it's at a 60-degree angle, a brake test ensuring an emergency stop can be performed by locking the wheels, and a rain test ensuring the car is still safe after water has poured on it. On Friday the 30th of August, we started with our first dynamic event; acceleration. However, as we still had to pass the hydrogen inspection, we were only allowed to do this electrically. On Saturday the 31st, we passed the last inspection. Later that day, we drove on hydrogen during the skidpad and autocross event! On Sunday the 1st of September, we had our last, yet most challenging dynamic event; endurance. However, against all odds, we managed to drive the full 22km on hydrogen! 🩵 💪 We are very proud to say that after two years in Formula Student, we managed to pass all these tests and drive on hydrogen in the Formula Student competition. Because of our partner Nederlands Lucht- en Ruimtevaartcentrum we are able to reach incredible heights this year! Our team took the initiative to show this in a literal way by combining a car and an airplane during a stunt at Twente Airport. NLR is one of our biggest partners that helps us to create our carbon parts. One last time last time looking back at Formula Student Netherlands! 😍 During our first race, we got acquainted with the FS competition. This experience taught us everything to prepare ourselves for FS FRANCE! We spent the past weeks preparing technical scrutineering and testing many aspects of the car while driving on hydrogen. This weekend, we will leave for Formula Student France; WE ARE READY TO RACE! 🏆

On Monday, we visited our partner Resato Hydrogen Technology to drive on hydrogen and do tests with higher power outputs than we have done so far! Earlier this year, Resato helped us assemble the tank and during this testday, they assisted us at their test location. WE DRIVE ON HYDROGEN! 🏆 We started the year with a working hydrogen system, managed to spin Apollo's wheels on hydrogen, integrated the complete system into our newest car Nebula, and can finally say; WE DRIVE ON HYDROGEN! 🩵 This year has been a rollercoaster of emotions, with several unforeseen setbacks and great milestones, topping it all off with this most important one! 🚀💪 By achieving the technical goal that we set for 2024, we finish this year's series "from Blueprint to Finishline".
