📣 The International Mediation Institute (IMI) is delighted to support the 33rd edition of the Word Forum of Mediation Centres presented by the International Association of Lawyers - Union Internationale des Avocats UIA! ➡️Established in 2001, the UIA World Forum of Mediation Centres brings together top commercial mediation practitioners, mediation center officers, lawyers, business managers, academics, trainers, and others from 20+ countries, spanning multiple continents, to bring diverse perspectives on the development and use of the mediation process. Whether you are from a place in which mediation is already readily accepted and integrated into the system of dispute resolution, or from one in which the “Dispute Resolution Revolution” is still in a not-yet-fully-accepted stage, there is something of value for you at the Forum. Each one is designed to enhance your knowledge about the mediation process, and to help you identify best practices as a mediator; both of which are accomplished through the various topics in the sessions, typically led by deeply-experienced mediators. The International Mediation Institute (IMI) and the international mediation community mourn the loss of Michael Leathes, an extraordinary colleague, founding father, mentor, and friend whose contributions have profoundly shaped the dispute resolution field, worldwide. As in-house counsel in leading international corporations, Michael was a frequent user and advocate of mediation services. After retiring in 2007, he had an instrumental role in the establishment and leading of the International Mediation Institute (IMI). Led by his concept of mediative leadership and humbly aware that no institution alone can do justice to Michael’s legacy we have set up a joint memorial page that honours his memory. The first panel explores the legal frameworks of mediation in Lusophone countries and Singapore. The second panel examines how mediation is institutionalised within court systems and other government-managed frameworks. 📢 The International Mediation Institute (IMI) is delighted to support the VIII International Forum "Mediation & Law", organised by the Ukrainian Academy of Mediation, an IMI CMTP. 🌎 Being the largest specialised event in Ukraine dedicated to developing mediation and other alternative dispute resolution methods, the forum aims to promote the development of mediation as an effective tool for conflict resolution, improve the quality of mediation services, share best practices, and create conditions for interaction and cooperation. 👥 IMI will be leading a workshop on "Ethical Guidelines in the Professional Activity of a Mediator" featuring prominent speakers Tat Lim, Dorcas Quek Anderson and Omer Shapira, and moderated by Zachary Calo and Indrė Korsakovienė.
