In one year, 10 young women will have a sustainable source of income from their tailoring and dressmaking businesses all year round. Kalyet Afya Foundation (KAF) will support women in becoming small business owners, lifting them and their families out of extreme poverty.⁠ The Young Women Master Tailoring project commenced on March 4th, 2024. Over the course of two months of training, the project participants, with the trainer's guidance, successfully crafted hair bonnets, school shirts, and school skirts. It has been an exhilarating journey for the project participants as they acquire a new skill that they believe will transform their lives and those of their families. OLCAP is implementing a Zero Hunger Through Mixed Farming project in Kakamega County, Western Kenya. The project aims to provide families with a balanced diet and extra income by engaging in goat and chicken rearing and indigenous vegetable cultivation. ⁠ ⁠ The project will help women boost their income by selling their harvest products. This extra income will cover household essentials like food, healthcare, housing improvements, and children's education costs.⁠ OLCAP, in collaboration with the local government and Sub-County agricultural officials, has achieved the following milestones to date: 1️. A three-day workshop on sustainable mixed farming was designed and delivered to project participants. 2️. The training employed a combination of theoretical sessions, practical demonstrations, case studies, and group discussions to foster active participation and facilitate effective learning. 3️.
