Crossing - our community for multicultural employees - celebrated Ramadan together with 70 colleagues🌙. Ramadan is a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. It is a time when Muslims around the world fast from dawn until sunset, breaking their fast with a meal called Iftar. ‘Sustainability at the heart’ starts with our employees. 🧡 This week marks the third edition of Global Sustainability Week. For an entire week, we organize inspiring activities centered around sustainability.🌱 A great opportunity for all our employees to dive into our climate ambitions, participate in inspiration sessions, interactive challenges, or simply enjoy organic delights while watching an impressive documentary during Sustainability Film Festival. 🎬   🎤We kicked off with an inspiring talk by Ambassador of Planet Earth André Kuipers and an eye-opening VR experience that let us truly feel the urgency of protecting our planet for future generations. 🌍 Followed by a panel discussion with Head of ESG Business Banking Elles Ogink en Egbert Mulder van Circular Leadership on sustainability and innovation. The energy was amazing—more than 250 colleagues joined Andre Kuipers in the event hall, while 500 more tuned in online.   A standout moment? Our youngest VIPs - Cara, Oliver, and Shayn, selected kids of our colleagues - bravely took the stage to ask their most burning questions to André in front of the entire audience. 💬 Their curiosity and passion were truly inspiring! The event wrapped up with a unique Meet & Greet, making it an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.   🎞️Because movies can also move people, we organized a Sustainability Film Festival to screen two inspiring documentaries, "The Future Council" and "The Green Musketeer". The Future Council follows a group of children who travel through Europe to participate in debates with business leaders about sustainability and our future, including our CEO Steven van Rijswijk. The Green Musketeer is a documentary about the life and life's work of Pieter Hoff. His invention makes it possible to plant trees in dry degraded areas such as deserts with little money and little water.   💡And for all employees who really want to understand all causes and consequences of climate change we organized 25 Climate Fresk workshops for more than 200 employees. And at the end of the week all colleagues can test their knowledge on sustainability and our own climate approach via a very nice quiz.   💚But this is just the beginning! We all have a role to play in building a sustainable future -because there is no Planet B.💚   Society is transitioning to a low-carbon economy. This applies to both our customers and ING. We finance many sustainable activities, but we still finance more that are not. This week is ING’s third annual Sustainability Week. 🪴🌍 A week full of interesting events, including the Climate Fresk Challenge where 500 of our colleagues are participating. In this workshop, they will learn the science behind climate change and how they can personally reduce their carbon footprint. 🌟 Inspiring Speakers from Hong Kong to Amsterdam! 🌟   This Monday, James Poon, country manager of mainland China and Hong Kong delivered an inspiring presentation to the students of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. 🌏✨But that’s not all!
