It's all about transition planning! 🌱 We were proud to host the 20th annual UNEP FI / VfU Roundtable on September 30th, marking as well our 20th year of VfU membership. This year's event, focused on transition planning, brought together around 130 experts from the sustainable finance community. It was an important opportunity to collaborate, share insights, and drive progress on the critical challenges and opportunities facing the financial industry during panel discussions, impulse talks and deep dives. 🤝 Here are the top key takeaways: 📌 Transition plans are one instrument to show decarbonization targets and enhance transparency and credibility but need to be interpreted in the context. 📌 Banks and politics have to go hand in hand to achieve the change to a net-zero future. 📌 The DFG funded study “Raising the bar: What determines the ambition level of corporate climate targets?” about decarbonization strategies of companies worldwide shows the varying degrees of ambition in their transition plans: https://lnkd.in/g8hkG8mK. Characteristics for high ambition are: leadership engagement, continual management support, employee involvement, participation in climate initiatives, collaboration with external stakeholders. 📌 Lack of sufficient data is still a factor for transition plans, but their collection will be better with the CSRD. Thank you to our Deutsche Bank speakers Jörg Eigendorf, Chief Sustainability Officer, Viktoriya Brand, Head of Group Sustainability, Dirk Haas, Head of Sustainability Strategy & Regional Governance, Markus H.-P. Müller, Chief Investment Officer ESG & Global Head of Chief Investment Office Deutsche Bank - Private Bank, and Sebastian Theuerer, Sustainability Strategy & Governance Manager. #SustainableFinance #TransitionPlanning #DeutscheBank United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) Verein für Umweltmanagement und Nachhaltigkeit in Finanzinstituten (VfU) e.V.

Borrowed Light, Shared Voices: Advancing DEI through art 🎨 Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting an inspiring dbENRICH Germany event at the PalaisPopulaire, using art as a safe space to promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within Deutsche Bank. 🌍🤝 dbENRICH Germany is an initiative and network within Deutsche Bank that fosters openness and a community for diverse exchange. Committed to supporting underrepresented groups, including employees from various ethnic, national, and cultural backgrounds, its mission is to create a meaningful and inclusive network where everyone feels empowered to contribute. At this event, we explored two incredible exhibitions. First, Rohini Devasher’s "Borrowed Light", which beautifully connects the distant worlds of art, science, and nature, mirroring how dbENRICH bridges diverse perspectives, bringing people and ideas together. Additionally, we visited Galli's exhibition, "See How You Get On", which challenges conventional perceptions and encourages breaking free from standard views. Both exhibitions align with our mission of fostering open dialogue and diverse perspectives. Art, much like diversity, has the power to open up dialogue, inspire, and connect us. Through dbENRICH, we aim to create spaces where every individual feels safe, heard, and valued. It was a truly beautiful evening that reminded us of the richness that comes from bringing different perspectives together. #Diversity #Inclusion #iaminclusion #DEI #SafeSpace #ArtAndDiversity #dbENRICH #BorrowedLight #SeeHowYouGetOn #DeutscheBank #PalaisPopulaire

Over 1,500 tech minds, one shared goal: Enabling Client Success! 🚀 🙌 Following its launch in Asia in April and stops in London and Bucharest, over 1,500 colleagues from across the bank gathered this week in Frankfurt and Berlin for our internal technology fair. The motto of this year's “Bank on Tech” was “Enabling Client Success” - we help clients to succeed. Our colleagues presented showcases at 26 booths, 28 speaker sessions and many other activities, including workshops and even fun games where participants could test an F1 car simulator, take part in a coding challenge, or try AI prompts to generate their own music. 💬 The format, launched back in 2016 by the bank’s Indian technology centre, has emerged as one of the annual highlights for the teams across Deutsche Bank Technology, Data & Innovation to showcase their current projects and demonstrate how they are using modern technologies to solve specific business challenges and drive the bank's transformation together with their colleagues across the bank. 👩💻 Artificial intelligence (AI) continues to dominate the developments, but the day covered the full spectrum of the bank’s technology strategy, from cloud, data and agile, to security and engineering culture. #DeutscheBank #TDI #Innovation #AI #EngineeringCulture #BankonTech

🕰️ 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝑻𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒔: Serving our clients! A century ago, Deutsche Bank had already realised the importance of making banking accessible to everyone. 🏦 In 1928, our employee magazine wrote: “The shyness and anxiety people feel when venturing into banking “palaces” with their seemingly small worries and business must disappear. The bank must be a place where one can openly discuss all one’s business worries and questions.” With the introduction of retail products such as the savings book (1929) and personal small loans (1959), the number of private clients skyrocketed and our clientele increasingly reflected society as a whole. This client-centric approach remains at the heart of our values today. Our series of pictures shows what advisory services at Deutsche Bank looked like between 1930 and 1980 - some more posed than others. 😉 🕰️ Timeless Treasures is a snapshot of a moment in time, a banking souvenir from bygone days – brought to you by Deutsche Bank’s Historical Institute. #TimelessTreasures #History #DeutscheBank #CustomerExperience #Banking

We speak many different languages, but we have one common purpose 🌍🇪🇺 Today is the European Day of Languages. Over 225 languages are native to Europe alone, not including languages that have arrived on the continent through migration or other international languages. The aim of celebrating a European Day of Languages is to raise awareness of the importance of language learning and to increase plurilingualism and intercultural understanding. At Deutsche Bank we believe it’s not about which language we speak, but about the values we share and the goals we pursue. As an international company, we speak many languages, but we are always united by a common purpose: We are dedicated to our clients’ lasting success and financial security at home and abroad. True to the motto: Many languages, one purpose.🤍 #Languages #EuropeanDayofLanguages #Culture #DeutscheBank

Ethical Hackers: Guardians of the Cyberspace 🛡️ In today’s digital age, the collaboration between companies and ethical hackers is more crucial than ever. These so-called white-hat hackers play a pivotal role in identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities before malicious actors can exploit them. Bug bounty programmes are a testament to this collaboration. By incentivising ethical hackers to find and report security flaws, companies can stay one step ahead of cybercriminals. This proactive approach not only strengthens cybersecurity but also fosters a community of skilled professionals dedicated to making the internet a safer place. 🔐 Why are bug bounties essential? ☑ Proactive defence: identifying vulnerabilities before they can be exploited. ☑ Community engagement: leveraging the skills of a global network of ethical hackers. ☑ Continuous improvement: ensuring that security measures evolve with emerging threats. Companies across various industries, from retail to finance, recognise the value of these programmes. By embracing the expertise of ethical hackers, they are not only protecting their assets but also contributing to a safer digital ecosystem for everyone. 💡 Read the full article with interesting examples from companies and learn more about bug bounties and how they safeguard cyberspace: https://lnkd.in/eh2GRJPA #CyberSecurity #EthicalHacking #WhiteHatHackers #BugBounty #dbWhatNext

🇯🇵 Our journey in Japan began in 1872, a time when the nation was emerging from centuries of isolation. We established one of our first overseas offices in Yokohama, a bustling port city that was rapidly becoming the gateway to Japan's modernisation. The focus then was to facilitate trade between Germany and Japan. 🤝 Fast forward to today, and we're proud to continue our legacy as a major player in the Japanese financial market offering corporate banking, investment banking and asset management solutions to our clients. From our humble beginnings to our position as a leading international bank in Japan, Deutsche Bank has witnessed the country’s remarkable transformation over the decades. After calling Sanno Park Tower home for 24 years, we recently relocated our office to the state-of-the-art Azabudai Hills in Tokyo. The move aligns with our broader vision for our future in Japan, as we seek to deepen our relationships with clients in the country and beyond. #Japan #TeamDBAPAC #GlobalHausbank

Celebrating Neurodiversity! 🌟 At Deutsche Bank, September marks our Global Neurodiversity Celebration Month. Our fourth annual acceptance campaign aims to increase awareness, create safe spaces for neurodivergent colleagues, and offer practical advice on fostering an inclusive workplace. “Our Neurodiversity Celebration Month continues to showcase the benefits of thinking differently and how unique perspectives and experiences can come together to generate truly innovative solutions. I am proud to once again sponsor this initiative, which highlights the value of neurodiversity and contributes to a diverse and inclusive working environment,” says Bernd Leukert, Chief Technology, Data and Innovation Officer and Member of the Management Board. Our Neurodiversity Network is hosting a variety of dedicated events this month. Highlights include a self-advocacy workshop with nearly 50 attendees, an informal meet-up, and a wellbeing workshop at the Tate Modern. Additional events will cover topics such as parenting, intersectionalities with other diversities like LGBT+, and managing neurodivergent resources. We are also excited to feature Tumi Sotire, “The Black Dyspraxic,” as a guest speaker. 💡🧠 What is neurodiversity? Neurodiversity refers to the range of differences in individual brain function and behavioural traits, regarded as part of normal variation in the human population. It includes neurocognitive differences such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, synaesthesia, and HSP (Highly Sensitive Person), promoting understanding and acceptance of all thinking styles. #Neurodiversity #Inclusion #Diversity #DeutscheBank

🦥 A day of enriching encounters! This week, our Corporate Social Responsibility Team (CSR) from Germany – who usually develop volunteering projects for our colleagues – embarked on some volunteering of their own. 🙋 Together with patients and friends of Trotzdem Aktiv e.V., an adult care facility for people with dementia, the team visited Frankfurt Zoo. They paired up with the patients and shared their impressions as they moved through the park, enjoying the time together. 🌤️ 🪁 Trotzdem Aktiv e.V. supports people with dementia and their families. It provides caregivers with a much-needed break by offering activities for patients, such as music, art, conversation and days out. We have been cooperating with Trotzdem Aktiv e.V. for over three years. Our CSR team has a clear vision: to help shape equitable and inclusive communities. It does so by collaborating with charities and expert partners on education initiatives, protecting the environment, and delivering basic needs and relief in emergencies. 🤲 🌐 CSR is part of our corporate culture and embedded across divisions. Our CSR Team supports business line programs, joins forces with our employee resource groups, engages in stakeholder dialogues, and offers opportunities for employees to get engaged in social projects. In 2023, a total of 989 team challenges kicked off in Germany alone. An impressive number! #CSR #CorporateVolunteering #Commitment
