Thank you Embuild Vlaanderen for hosting us yesterday in their headquarters in Brussels! #LIFECondoReno partners met in person for a day packed of exchange of opinions and workshops regarding the latest developments of the project. 🔎 We took the chance to dive deep into the of the pilot condominiums that are being renovated for #EnergyEfficiency in both Flanders and the Netherlands following the CondoReno business models. We also brainstormed on how to better involve stakeholders during the #RenovationJourney and the role they should play in scaling up and massifying integrated home renovation services (#IHRS). Conclusions from these sessions will serve to inform out future work and published in the comming months. Stay tuned for a 2025 packed with information! 📢 Exciting News from Budapest! European Builders Confederation EBC and its member IPOSZ - The National Federation of Hungarian Contractors co-hosted an impactful international workshop as part of the LIFE_CondoReno 🏢✨ The event brought together experts to tackle the challenges and opportunities of boosting condominium renovations, with a focus on creating energy-efficient, sustainable multi-owned properties. Leaders in policy, energy, and construction discussed key topics, including the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), local one-stop-shop renovation models, and the vital role of SMEs and craft trades in this transformation. Special thanks to our insightful speakers and organizers, including Rettich Tamás, Örs Ringhoffer, Ilona Illésné-Szécsi, Matyas Andras Den, Fernando Sigchos Jiménez, and Erwin Mlecnik, and all participants who contributed to this vital conversation on making energy efficiency a reality in multi-owned properties. 🌍 Empowering Dutch Communities for a Greener Future! 🌍 We’re thrilled to spotlight our colleague Ragy Elgendy from Delft University of Technology, who was recently interviewed about his impactful work in engaging Dutch residents in the energy transition. This initiative, a crucial part of the “No Home Left Behind” project, explores how involving local communities can make a real difference in sustainable development, one home at a time. These methods prioritize inclusivity, ensuring that everyone—not just a select few—has the opportunity to take part in the transition to renewable energy. From understanding individual needs to fostering community dialogue, their research is paving the way toward a more participatory approach to sustainability. 💬 "It’s crucial to ensure that every home, every individual, is part of the energy transition. When people feel included and their voices are heard, real change becomes possible," Ragy shares, highlighting the importance of a collaborative approach in tackling the climate crisis.
