Crispy on the outside, soft and custardy on the inside, Torrejas are a popular Spanish and Latin American dessert, similar to French toast. Bread slices are soaked in a mixture of milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon, and then fried. We used our Vila Velha® cooking oil and high-quality sugar sourced by LDC! Tip: Torrejas are best served warm with a drizzle of syrup or honey, and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. Breakfast doesn’t get much easier than this, so hit play, follow our quick and easy recipe, and visit our YouTube channel for more recipes made with LDC products: https://lnkd.in/dXendSFe #breakfastrecipe #FrenchToast #easyrecipes Ingredients: • 1 loaf of day-old bread (French bread or brioche, sliced about 2.5 cm thick) • 4 large eggs • 360 ml milk (1½ cups) • 5 ml vanilla extract (1 teaspoon) • 50 g granulated sugar (¼ cup) • 5 ml ground cinnamon (1 teaspoon) • Vegetable oil (for frying) • 100 g granulated sugar mixed with 5 ml cinnamon (½ cup sugar mixed with 1 tsp cinnamon) • Honey (optional) Instructions: 1. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, sugar and cinnamon until well combined. 2. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, letting it soak for 20-30 seconds on each side. Ensure the bread is fully coated but not too soggy. 3. Heat a few tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat in a large skillet. The oil should be hot but not smoking (around 350°F or 175°C). 4. Fry the soaked bread slices in batches, cooking for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crisp. 5. Remove the torrejas from the oil and drain them on a plate lined with paper towel. 6. While still warm, sprinkle the torrejas with the cinnamon-sugar mixture. 7. Drizzle with honey or syrup just before serving.

Expanding Sustainable Camelina Cultivation in South America LDC and Global Clean Energy have renewed their camelina cultivation collaboration for a decade, building on a successful three-year pilot. With its low water requirements, short growing cycle and ability to improve soil health, camelina cultivation as an intermediate crop offers farmers a valuable addition to their crop rotations, helping to optimize land use while contributing to more sustainable, lower-carbon supply chains for high-protein animal feed and advanced biofuels. Established in Argentina and Uruguay, our camelina program will expand into Paraguay in 2025, and we are grateful to local farmers in the region for embracing this opportunity to grow an ultra-low carbon feedstock, as a lever for meaningful progress on our common sustainability journey. Saiba mais: https://lnkd.in/dd3uhri6 #Sustentabilidade #EnergiaVerde --------------------------------------- LDC Breaks Ground on its First Biogas Plant Powered by Citrus Effluents in Brazil Earlier today, LDC held the groundbreaking ceremony for its pioneering biogas production unit in Bebedouro, São Paulo State, Brazil.
