🌦️ Europe just launched a new #AI system for weather forecasting and that's interesting news for our portfolio company, Beyond Weather, and for good reason. 🔽 "Extraordinary times in weather. When it comes to #WeatherTech, Europe seems to be the place to be. Congrats to the team at European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts - ECMWF. This will propel the entire weather industry forward," says Beyond Weather COO, Steven van den Tol. So what does this mean? According to the Financial Times announcement, this new system can outperform conventional forecasting methods for up to 15 days ahead leading to improved weather prediction and more advanced tracking of extreme weather events, giving those affected extra warning time. "Although ECMWF forecasts are freely available, the agency does not issue severe weather alerts nor tailor-made predictions to industry users, leaving the specialized forecasts to national or local authorities and private companies," says the FT article. Last week, Sycai Medical attended #4YFN25, which was an amazing opportunity expand their networks and, of course, learn more about all the wonderful startups out there working hard to create a better world. Sycai Medical developed technology which detects pre-cancerous lesions while they are still benign. This helps radiologists monitor the lesions by characterizing them and comparing every image with previous images to present the evolution. Pharmacists can count on Autoscriber's software – one of our portfolio companies – to generate efficient reports during their medication reviews with patients.
