On 12 March, NautaDutilh hosted the annual SFNet Europe event. During the chapter event, our moderator Janneke de Goeij and panellist Saskia Heumakers discussed industry developments, particularly considering the current dynamic economy. At the NextGen panel, that included Diederik von Königslöw, the SFNet NextGen community examined the various stages and life cycle of an asset-based lending (ABL) transaction. The ABL industry is continually evolving, and it is interesting to observe new players entering the market, presenting opportunities. Our panellists highlighted the potential for the use of ABL financing in acquisition financing as a notable example. “It was great to see so many of our clients and other contacts in the ABL-industry together at our Amsterdam offices, and to catch-up on latest developments in the market. It’s always a great pleasure to host the SFNet Europe community,” says Diederik von Königslöw, of our Finance practice. #sfnet #securedfinance #abltransaction

The Commission and Benelux NCAs seek to empower competition through new and existing means “With the recent calling-in of the Ziemann transaction, what seems a below-the-thresholds transaction, and the announcement of five market investigations, the ACM is not sitting idle and is clearly front loading what we can expect when it formally gets its new and revamped tools. We will have to see whether the revamping of new competition tools holds up eventually, but authorities are clearly putting their money where their mouth is,” says Mauricette Schaufeli of our Competition practice. 💡 Read our blog post: https://lnkd.in/eA4WyNRG #competitionlaw #mergercontrol #euregulations

Every day, I feel very lucky to work with the many talented women across all of our offices. They inspire, challenge and lead by example. The variety of perspectives they bring to the table truly add value. For our clients and within our teams. That is why I stand for a workplace where talent and ambition are what define success. I stand for an environment where everyone has the space and opportunity to reach their full potential. So today – International Women’s Day – is a moment for everyone to take action. Men and women, together, inside and outside of NautaDutilh, must actively work towards creating an inclusive work environment where all talent can thrive. And we need to do this every day because it is not a given, and there is still a lot of work to do. Let’s accelerate action together. Let’s step forward. Let’s challenge ourselves to do better. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2025 #AccelerateAction #adaptivethinking

CSRD, CSDDD, EU Taxonomy update Update: Three takeaways on the implications of the first Sustainability Omnibus simplification package “The European Commission's Sustainability Omnibus legislative package proposes far-reaching changes to the CSRD, CSDDD, and EU Taxonomy. The changes to the scope, substance and reporting requirements aim to relieve the administrative burden for companies, but of course, a change in the regulations also triggers questions. We look forward to discussing these with clients", says Suzanne Kröner - Rosmalen, counsel for our ESG team. 💡 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/e-wT2M8P #csrd #sustainabilityomnibus #legalupdates

The pension transition: 5 things you need to know "The pension transition represents a fundamental and far-reaching shift that requires clarity, collaboration, and planning from all stakeholders. As we move away from predefined benefit structures toward a system based on more individual responsibility, it is essential to prioritise fairness, transparency, and long-term stability. Ensuring that all parties, employers, employees, and retirees alike, understand and trust these changes will be critical to the successful implementation of this new era in retirement planning", says Maartje Govaert, head of our Employment & Pensions team. Benelux Competition Law in 2025: Five things you need to know "In the current geopolitical turmoil, politics are crucial for developing and enforcing competition law. With the recent US and German elections and the European Commission's 2025 work programme, this year promises to transform the competition, foreign investment, and digital regulatory landscape. Expect new tools, heightened foreign investment scrutiny, and rigorous enforcement of the DMA and DSA, driven by challenges from US Big Tech," says Mauricette Schaufeli, Benelux partner Competition Law 💡 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/ggPzXc9Q #competitionlaw #fdi #legalupdates
