🤝 Hot news about our cool new work in Africa 😊 We’re helping expand refrigeration for off-grid communities with a credit facility of USD 4 million to SureChill The funding is part of our partnership with Triodos Investment Management and will help SureChill meet its working capital needs. With the loan, SureChill will be able to bring solar-powered refrigerators to off-grid and weak-grid areas. Medical centres will be able to store life-saving vaccines for up to 12 days without power, and small businesses will similarly be able to increase their income by selling fresh produce. It’s climate-smart technology and financial inclusion all in one.🌍🌱 Read about it here: https://lnkd.in/ezSrcYcP #ImpactInvesting #SDG7 #CommunityDevelopment #BeTheChange

Yesterday we had the pleasure to have Opportunity International EduFinance's Mauricio Rincon join us at our Amersfoort HQ to explain to our staff members how our education finance partnership works in practice. 🎓 Three years in, we are seeing great traction, with already over a quarter million children impacted with improved access to affordable education. 🤝 That session was a great kick-off to a busy GIIN Forum week in Amsterdam which got going today with an excellent Water Solutions Innovation Hub session organized by Ina Lee and hosted by Triple Jump, followed by GIIN members day this PM. Over the next few days, several colleagues from Oikocredit will be present at the RAI to talk with existing and potential partners on a range of topics, from fundraising to #impactinvesting in #climatefinance, #fintech, #agribusiness, #WASH, #renewableenergy, #blendedfinance, #capacitybuilding and many other things. If you are at GIIN: come meet me on Thursday afternoon at the Blended Finance Gallery from 1600 - 1730 where Oikocredit's WASH partnership with Aqua for All will proudly be featured. 🚀🤩 Today we’re highlighting Oikocredit partner Asociación Costa Rica Grameen and its clients. Among them is Karla Patricia Velásquez Carvajal, who loves the independence and autonomy of running her own grocery store in Costa Rica. She has been able to grow her business from selling vegetables to a wider range of groceries thanks to loans from Costa Rica Grameen. “The loans help me a lot because they allow me to do other things, if opportunities present themselves. If some ideas don’t work out, I can move another way,” she says. That flexibility is invaluable in business. It’s one way our 500+ partners are transforming livelihoods and supporting stronger communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America. 👉 Read about our partners and their customers in our Impact Report 2024, out now. https://lnkd.in/e5Di7Bxy
