    What do Lush, Patagonia, and Tentree have in common? 🌍 They have all embraced eco-conscious themes in their previous Black Friday marketing strategies! 🌱 We were inspired by Shopify's round-up of 13 viral Black Friday campaigns—each with its unique twist, but a few key trends stood out: 1. Giving Back to the Planet: Lush’s limited edition Orangutan soap and Patagonia’s initiative to repair clothes instead of promoting new purchases are perfect examples of brands putting the environment first. 2. Leveraging Email Marketing: Brands effectively used email to share exclusive discount codes, driving engagement and sales. 3. Crafting Memorable Experiences: Barnes & Noble’s signed book campaign is a brilliant example of creating a special experience that resonates with customers. The examples above highlight that many different platforms are being used for different strategies, such as email, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, and more.     While doing some research on sporting events and sales opportunities, we came across the craziest statistic 🤯 In 2019, the Fortnite World Cup tournament had over 2 million viewers. While Fortnite might not be considered a traditional 'sporting event,' no one can deny that over 2 million viewers are a valuable source of exposure for any brand. Addidas obviously thought so, as they have since signed multiple sponsorship deals with Fortnite players and Fortnite apparel. This is a great example of a brand thinking creatively about sporting events, identifying high exposure potential, and finding opportunities to increase awareness and sales.     It's good news from the National Retail Federation ahead of the upcoming holiday season - retail sales will see growth in 2024! The projection is an increase in 2024 between 2.5% and 3.5% to between $5.23 trillion and $5.28 trillion.
