Flávio Baltensberger is Chief Information Officer at Supergasbras Energia Ltda, our business in Brazil, where he was worked for more than 22 years. We caught up with Flavio before he was promoted last year, when he kindly took the time to talk to us about his then-role. As (former) Director of Technology and Digital Transformation, Flavio’s goals focused on leveraging existing technologies to enhance the company’s performance and improve results. Part of this included elevating the customer and employee experience. On the topic of his enduring career with Supergasbras, Flavio explains the importance of the company’s values aligning with his own. Kudos to our 25 colleagues at GASPOL, SHV Energy’s business in Poland, for participating in the recent Fundacja Poland Business Run (Poland Business Run) - finishing in 20th place out of almost 3,600 relay teams! It’s an inspiring example of how our people join forces in the spirit of friendly competition to make a meaningful difference for the communities where we operate. Supergasbras Energia Ltda, SHV Energy’s business in Brazil, brings together more than 4,000 colleagues to provide essential energy for 10 million families and 50,000 industrial and commercial customers across the country. This can amount to around 140,000 tons of LPG per month. In this short video, we share more about the Supergasbras story, from the company’s origins, to its commitment to caring for its people, and how it focuses on building long-term partnerships with its extensive network of more than 11,000 dealers (5,000 of which are licensed) across Brazil. When it comes to Health and Safety, “Our goal is zero incidents, every day,” says Asanani V., Head Environment, Health & Safety at SunSource Energy, an SHV Energy business in India. As we continue with Health & Safety Week 2024, Vijay takes a moment to explain the vital role that contractors play in SunSource Energy's construction projects, and how the company developed a five-step process to select and partner with those who demonstrate alignment with the company’s values and procedures. Starting today, SHV Energy is proudly participating in SHV’s annual Health & Safety Week to raise employee awareness of this vital topic, and to encourage positive behaviours that contribute to an even healthier and safer place to work. The safety and wellbeing of our people remains our top priority. This year, SHV Energy is focusing on three areas, which will be explained and brought to life through various activities, presentations and on-site workshops taking place in the markets where we operate, all over the world. Our three focus areas are: - 'The Health & Safety Minute' which encourages our people to proactively undertake a 60-second risk assessment before they start work and to take appropriate action if they identify a potential hazard. - 'Visible Felt Leadership' which highlights the importance of ensuring our people see and feel the presence, and the care, of their senior management teams, both in the office and on site. - 'Wellbeing' which encompasses our employees’ psychological health in addition to their physical safety. We’re also looking forward to a webinar hosted by SHV CEO Floris de Ryck, which will feature stories and experiences shared by voices from across the SHV Family of Companies.
