Last week Friday, Lois Isa Frahm and I had the privilege to host an interactive workshop during the Women in Energy | NL event - The Pirates Edition, which we joined with 5 other Sif ladies. It was an inspiring and thought-provoking workshop where we discussed the complexities and challenges of the energy transition and offshore wind. The so-called pirates (risks) that make our job both demanding and rewarding. Together with all the participants, we shared our pirates and developed strategies to navigate these challenges and ensure smoother sailing ahead.   The Women in Energy event offered a great opportunity to get in touch with the women that shape the future of our energy transition and we discussed grid congestion, floating offshore wind and solar and climate justice. While we operate in a traditionally male-dominated industry, we are proud to see the presence and impact of women growing within our company. We value and appreciate the talented women at Sif who contribute to our success every day. In an inspiring interview with Women in Energy | NL, Monique van den Boogaard (Director Projects & Management Team Member) and Lois Isa Frahm (Market Intelligence Analyst), sat down to discuss what it means to be a woman at Sif. With only around 100 women in a company of nearly 1,000 employees, Lois highlighted how women in leadership roles like Monique, serve as role models. They inspire others to follow similar career paths and pave the way for fellow women. By challenging stereotypes, they demonstrate that talent and determination, not gender, define success. While many roles in the office are filled by women, Monique and Lois spoke about how female inclusivity in production remains a challenge. However, Sif is actively working to bridge the gap. For example, we have partnered with an agency that specifically brings female welders into our team. 🌟 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿! 🌟 Fred Van Beers had the privilege of accepting the Port Man of the Year Award from Frank de Kruijf, Chairman of the Port Man/Woman of the Year Foundation. Joining the ranks of past Port men and women is a remarkable achievement, but Fred believes this award isn’t just about him. He proposes it to be renamed to Port Team of the Year. Why? Because the recent expansion at Sif wouldn't have been possible without teamwork. 💪 Fred began his speech by thanking our incredible Sif team. Their dedication and tireless efforts turned a vision into reality. Externally, partnerships were just as vital. From the Port of Rotterdam to other collaborators, this success story was built together. In his speech, Fred encouraged everyone to stick to what you believe in and always see the possibilities. But he also stressed the importance of staying grounded and rely on facts. Collaboration, courage, action.
