#Healthdot is an accelerometer-based, wireless, continuous monitoring biosensor. In a study conducted at the surgical and anesthesiology division of Catharina Hospital Eindhoven, The Netherlands, the reliability of key vital signs—Heart Rate (HR) and Respiratory Rate (RR)—measured by #Healthdot was compared with the gold standard bedside monitors (ECG and capnography). The study focused on postoperative bariatric patients, demonstrating that 87.5% of HR data and 92.3% of RR data from Healthdot fell within the acceptable bias of ±5 beats per minute (bpm) and ±5 respirations per minute (rpm), respectively, compared to the gold standard. This study is also one of the first to evaluate the accuracy of a wearable solution like Healthdot in patients with a Body Mass Index (BMI) above 40, specifically post-bariatric surgery patients.
