Internal communication as we knew it is gone. Why?  Because nothing stays internal anymore. In today’s world, every employee has a voice, a platform, and the power to influence—instantly. The old boundaries between internal and external comms have blurred. Employees are content creators, managers are influencers, and transparency isn’t optional—it’s essential. For brands with true values, this shift is a massive opportunity. For those with double standards? A big risk. Swipe through our carousel to learn what you can do to empower employees and make internal communication your strongest asset. Do you agree? Tell us how your role or focus has shifted below. Want to learn more? Read our longer article on the topic in the comments or send us a DM or email info@thetruthworks.co 👇 #comms #corporatecomms #internalcomms #employeeengagement

The UK has gone through a huge reckoning this week and colleague communities need your support and solidarity as leaders more than ever. It can be difficult to know what steps to take when confronted with situations where our colleagues may have to bear witness to or directly experience discrimination or violence towards them because of who they are, what they believe or the colour of their skin. In these situations as leaders we of course have a duty of care from a safety perspective but colleagues will also look to us to confirm that they will not face this kind of discrimination and fear at work. They will be looking for reassurance, support and guidance from leaders as well as more formal policies and support structures. What we say, how we say it and what action we take next matters as leaders and as colleagues ourselves. We know this can be overwhelming for people leaders, especially those who may also be afraid for their own safety or for that of their loved ones, so we wanted to provide a simple guide with 6 steps that you can take in the coming days and months to support your people. We hope it’s helpful and we are of course here to offer more support and guidance in any way we can. Our contact details are on the document too so if you just need a gutcheck or even just a chat then we are happy to do this free of charge. Please do share with any people leaders that may need extra help at this time. Please stay vigilant and look after yourself and each other. The team at TheTruthWorks

Don’t let your company values end up as wall art. Creating Values is one thing, but integrating them into daily operations and company culture is where the real work starts and where impact begins. We have worked on several value projects recently and here's what we learned: the real work starts with implementation. So far you've invested time, resources, and energy in creating these values, and now you need to make sure they come to life. At TheTruthWorks we believe this only works if you → Make it True → Make it Real → Make it Matter But what does that mean? Make it true -  Help colleagues and leaders understand these serve as practical tools, not just words. Think about storytelling, ambassadors and leadership role modeling Make it real -  Showcase how they connect to colleagues and leaders' daily experiences and responsibilities. Think launch activities, equipping manager and values roadshows Make it Matter -  Empower colleagues and leaders and embed values into every step of the employee journey, creating genuine alignment and impact. Think strategic alignment, holistic integration, and transformative outcomes. Activated values transform organisations. Make yours count. Do you want to know more about how to embed your values into your company culture? DM us, comment below or drop us an email on info@thetruthworks.co 👇🏽 ..... With thanks to our Client Lead Georgia Wilkinson for walking us through the methodology so brilliantly! #values #activation #launch #engagement

The term 'resilience' is mentioned by almost every leader we speak to at the moment. When greater productivity is the goal and headcount is down, building 'resilience' is often touted as the antidote to burnout. It's true that creating a resilient workforce is beneficial for both employees and businesses. But it's also true that to create real resilience, it has to be a collaborative effort where businesses invest in training and support, and employees are empowered to grow and adapt. Curious to learn more? Swipe through our carousel and let's start a conversation about fostering real resilience at work. 👇🏽 #resilience #training #HR #burnout

Our team had a fantastic day at RecFest UK last week. Great to see so many familiar faces and come together to learn and network … festival style.  🎪 🎸 🎡 We took away many positive things, but here are our top highlights: → AI in Talent Acquisition: Increase inclusivity by focusing on skill-based hiring and experience rather than subjective factors or qualifications.  But keep in mind that a unique and optimised candidate experience often requires a combination of human insight, AI, and technology, with humans steering the process → Cost strategies: Understanding the true cost of hiring, including recruitment, onboarding, and turnover to build a burning platform, internal legitimacy,  and future metrics. → Stay interviews: Focus on current employees, not just those who leave. → Employee advocacy: Content shared by employees gets significantly more engagement than brand channels. The power of influencer programmes is still under-leveraged and should be in every employer brand roll out. → Employee Resource Groups (ERGs): Introduce trusted, reliable safe spaces that support diverse inputs and act as a catalyst for change within a business. If we were to give some advice for next year? Sponsor talks - Partner with clients and showcase great case studies for more engaging presentations. Keep the sales pitch light, focus on adding real value and sales will follow. The hook - Ensure each talk has a clear, compelling hook and narrative beyond a catchy clickbait title. The content - With many talks covering similar topics, consider reducing the number of sessions and combining them into different formats for a more diverse and impactful content. Most Memorable Moments: 🤠 Renaissance Cowboy Carter hat from Totaljobs 🍾 “Gordon Ramsay” sighting handing out champagne The energy and enthusiasm were contagious and we are already looking forward to next year's event. #recfest #Recfest2024 #thetruthworks #team With Mark Ivan Serunjogi Carly Hookey Sophie Drummond 🟡Jodi Mustard🟡 Jamie Leonard Daniel Perkins Claire de Souza Leila Siassipour Rhiannon Stroud Georgia Wilkinson

💡 Hot off the press this week - SHRM decided to drop “Equity” from their DE&I initiatives, now calling it “Inclusion and Diversity” (I&D). They say it's about making inclusion the top priority for everyone. But we aren't buying it... Here’s our take: → Step backward: This change feels regressive. It overlooks the importance of equity, which ensures everyone has access to the same opportunities. → Surface-Level Effort: By removing equity, SHRM risks keeping efforts on a surface-level. Equity is our North Star, the "why" behind DE&I work. Without it, what are we striving for if not equity? → More than a phrase: DE&I represents years of struggle and advocacy. Each word stands for critical elements that together foster truly inclusive workplaces. Dropping "Equity" undermines the significance of this collective effort. Our Strategy Director and DE&I expert Mark Ivan Serunjogi cites Arthur Chan's words: "Diversity is a fact. Equity is a choice. Inclusion is an action." Focusing too much on terminology distracts from addressing the root causes of inequality. This shallow approach risks cutting essential DE&I programs instead of creating real impact for professionals from marginalized groups, which would be detrimental to building truly inclusive and equitable workplaces.” They claim equity will still be part of their strategy. But what is the point of inclusion without equity? To us, equity is crucial. It's what ensures fair treatment, access, and opportunity for everyone.  What’s your take on SHRM’s new direction? Share your thoughts below. 👇🏽 #SHRM #DEI #inclusion #equity #diversity
