🚨 Together with our international law enforcement partners, our Embassy teams are working tirelessly to #ProtectChildren from predators. Last month, Operation Renewed Hope III marked the most successful operation yet of its kind, bringing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations, Europol, and ICMEC Global together to rescue dozens of young victims of online exploitation. Sophisticated investigative techniques were used to target offenders operating online. #EndExploitation #Know2Protect
The DHS Cyber Crimes Center and our international partners conducted Operation Renewed Hope III, Feb. 24 – March 7. The operation's 251 foreign and 135 domestic leads containing the location and probable identities of children were generated through sophisticated investigative techniques targeting offenders who operate via the internet, which includes the use of forums, websites, email, chat rooms and file-sharing applications. Through the analysis of 83,000 files (216 GB), this global collaboration uncovered critical evidence to support ongoing investigations — making it HSI’s most successful operation of its kind. Protecting children requires a worldwide effort. If you suspect a child is in imminent danger, call 911 or your local police. Members of the public who suspect a child might be a victim of exploitation are urged to call the ICE tip line at 866-347-2423, the Know2Protect Tipline at 1-833-591-KNOW (5669). Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States and the third most common cancer in the Netherlands. Awareness is important because many of these cases are preventable with early detection. Screening programs have greatly improved mortality rates, although cases are rising in younger adults. With #ColorectalCancerAwareness month this March, the Embassy’s Health Unit invited expert guest speaker Dr. Onno Guicherit from the University Cancer Center Leiden | The Hague at Haaglanden Medisch Centrum (HMC) Antoniushove, who covered how to prevent, recognize, and treat colorectal cancer, including differences between cancer screening in the Netherlands and the U.S.

The Dutch Royal Navy (Koninklijke Marine) successfully launched its first Tomahawk missile from HNLMS DE RUYTER off the East Coast of the United States, providing enhanced combat power to our allies together with U.S. Navy.

For more than 60 years, this program has brought our nation's top high school scholars to Washington to explore paths to public service.
