Last night was a magical ✨ At the Motherhood & Sexuality Panel, we cut through the silence. We talked about what really happens to your body, intimacy, and sensuality after motherhood. And believe us—it was real, raw, and nothing short of powerful. Here’s what hit hardest: 🔑 "𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗮 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲." We’re too hard on ourselves. Healing starts with self-love. Period. ✨ "𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳." Your body isn’t “ruined.” It’s transformed. And so can you be. 🌱 "𝗔 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲." No need to do this alone. We've got your back. 👀 "𝗕𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲." Motherhood isn’t the end of intimacy—it’s a new beginning. 💗 "𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹. 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀." No need to rush. Just take it one step at a time. Big shout out to our amazing panelists: 🌸 Uwe Porters Midwife & mother 🌼 Nadin van de Rest – Relationship & Intimacy Therapist 🌺 Marjan Groefsema – Psychologist on Sexuality & Motherhood 🌷 Ombretta Dettori – Ayurveda Practitioner & Doula 🌿 Kasia Pokrop – Yoga Teacher & HypnoBirthing Educator And to our founder Jo Sarah for moderating this beautiful convo! And a huge thank you to Mamamoon Health for making this happen with us and Equals for hosting! Missed it? Don’t worry. More is coming. In the meantime, join our free Community Chat group with subgroups that have different topics on women+'s health with experts and other women+. PCOS impacts more than just periods—it affects your focus, productivity, and mental well-being. Here’s what it looks like for women+ trying to juggle work and PCOS: 1️⃣ 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀—Imagine trying to concentrate while your mind feels cloudy. Productivity plummets. 2️⃣ 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗳𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗲—PCOS often causes sleep problems, and without proper rest, performance suffers. 3️⃣ 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀—Physical discomfort and mood swings make it hard to stay on top of tasks. 4️⃣ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀—PCOS symptoms like weight gain, excessive hair growth on face, chin, back and acne can hurt self-esteem, making it difficult to show up at your best. 5️⃣ 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀—Anxiety and depression are common with PCOS, adding to the emotional strain at work. Organizations need to pay attention. PCOS is affecting women+ in the workplace, but it’s rarely discussed. We need to change that. In my latest Umaversity podcast episode, I’m sharing my personal journey with PCOS and offering 5 tips to take control of your health. 💪✨ 🎧 Listen to the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/egBiMus9 👇 Have you experienced PCOS challenges at work? "Amazing things happen when women help other women.” - the words by another Kasia, Kasia Gospoś, which stayed with me since last year. I met Jo Sarah sometime in May. We had a call end of the day. I thought it would be one of those done in 20 minutes, but we had to cut it off after 1,5 hours, as it turned out the topics we share high interest in are so many! Jo Sarah is a founder of Umaversity, a movement that provides safe spaces for women+ of all cultures and ages to learn, share & connect about their mental health, body, and sexual wellness. The part of women's health that is so strongly connected with us during motherhood, and then it gets less, or more, or we get confused. Or not. We often don't know what is normal, because we don't dare to talk about it loud. So here we are, four months later after our first call, dedicated to supporting women+ at every phase of our lives and organizing a Women's Health Panel Discussion on the topic of Motherhood & S3xuality at our dear Equals Clubhouse, run by Umaversity and Mamamoon Health together! Amazing things truly happen when women help other women, and you can experience it firsthand when you join us next week. 📅 When: Wednesday, Sep 18th, from 6pm till 8.30pm 📍 Where: Equals (Raamgracht 6, Amsterdam) 🔗 Link to get tickets: https://lnkd.in/eK_QRqJX Panelists: 🌸Uwe Porters - Midwife, mother, and writer 🌼Nadin van de Rest - Relationship and Intimacy therapist 🌺Marjan Groefsema - Psychologist 'Zest for Life', focusing on S3xuality & Motherhood 💐Ombretta Dettori - Ayurveda practitioner, birth & postpartum doula, and yoga teacher 🪻Kasia Pokrop (yep, first time as a panelist!) - Yoga teacher, HypnoBirthing & Spinning Babies Childbirth Educator, advocate for women+'s health 💃For whom: For every woman+ interested in exploring the intersections of motherhood and s3xuality, and seeking a holistic approach to her well-being. Hope to see you there! #womeninspiringwomen #womenshealthmatters #motherhoodjourney #femtech #mamamoonhealth Hannah van Egmond Tania Tasheva Nastasja Tennhardt Isadora Caporali Katia Khomich Laila Fanzi, MSc Ioanna Paschali Dieuwke van Buren Orit Zilberman Oda Meiberg Renske Kuiper Caroline Kooij Deniz Er Wiedhaup Kerstin Recker Alexandre Stichting Voices for Women
