Last week, we welcomed nearly 60 participants to the 4th edition of Women in Tech, an event designed to introduce students and recent graduates to tech internships at Van Lanschot Kempen. The participants learned more about our company, were inspired by the career journeys of Muriel Zeegers and Nina Kuijsten, and engaged in two rounds of meet-and-greet sessions with different tech departments. The evening concluded with networking drinks, allowing participants to further connect with colleagues from Van Lanschot Kempen.   Following the event, over 50 participants applied for internships at Van Lanschot Kempen. We hope that some of them will begin their internships with us in February 2025, and we are eager to see the impact these women will have in the tech world!

Wij zijn er trots op deel uit te maken van de Rainbow Finance Alliance! De grootste bijeenkomst tot nu toe, die plaatsvond op 7 oktober 2024, was een enorm succes. Tijdens dit event werden persoonlijke verhalen gedeeld, werd er basisinformatie gegeven over LGBTQ+-kwesties en vond er een paneldiscussie plaats. Het panel ging in op de uitdagingen bij onze bedrijven en onderzocht manieren om de verdeeldheid rond LGBTQ+-kwesties te verminderen. De Rainbow Finance Alliance is een samenwerking binnen de Nederlandse financiële sector, gericht op LGBTQ+-inclusie. We zetten ons in om ervoor te zorgen dat alle LGBTQ+-medewerkers zich veilig en geaccepteerd voelen en zichzelf kunnen zijn op de werkvloer, zonder discriminatie, intimidatie en andere vormen van ongewenst gedrag. Hiervoor komen we regelmatig bij elkaar. Door onze ervaringen, best practices en strategieën voor het creëren van een veilige omgeving te delen, helpen we elkaar in dit belangrijke proces. 👩💻🌍A few years ago, we introduced the working abroad framework. This framework makes it possible for Dutch Van Lanschot Kempen employees to work, for a maximum of 2 months per year, outside the Netherlands. Our colleague Andi Bimo (Corporate Development Director) is using the framework to visit his family abroad. 💭'Both my wife and I are originally from Albania, but we have lived in the Netherlands for more than 15 years. Our families still live in Albania. Before we worked remotely, we saw our families a few times a year. For the past two summers, we combined 2-3 weeks of working remotely with a few weeks off. This allows us to spend much more time close to our families, which is especially important for our five-year-old daughter, Andrea. Besides, working in another country helps us change our daily routine and gain a different perspective on things. It has been a significant improvement in our lifestyle for my family and me, and I am very grateful to Van Lanschot Kempen for making this possible. As much as I enjoy taking a different path from time to time, I am always happy to return home and to the office with fresh energy and new perspectives.' #workingatvanlanschotkempen #werkenbijvanlanschotkempen #workingabroad
