We’re excited to announce, that Alina Saidi’s, a PhD student in the Department of Internal Medicine at Sint Franciscus Gasthuis, abstract titled "𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗯𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲" has been selected for an oral presentation at the upcoming 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗔𝗗𝗗𝗥𝗠) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰. The abstract investigates the relationship between liver fibrosis, as measured by the Fibrosis-4 (FIB-4) index, and cardiovascular risk in patients with severe obesity. It reveals that individuals with a high FIB-4 score face increased cardiovascular risk, highlighting the importance of assessing liver fibrosis to identify those who are at the highest cardiovascular risk. Alina Saidi is honoured to share these findings at the ADDRM, which will take place from November 14 and 15 in Wageningen. More details about the meeting can be found here: https://www.addrm.online/

It's the final week of Fatty Liver Month. Therefore we would like to share essential information about MASLD and MASH and the urgent need for early detection of these diseases. MASLD is estimated to affect 30% of the adult global population, with a higher prevalence in high-risk groups such as patients with type 2 diabetes, metabolic syndrome, hypertension, and obesity. MASLD has become the most common liver disease in many countries. 🌍 MASH, a progressive stage of MASLD, causes even more liver damage. Fortunately, MASH can be reversed through targetted lifestyle interventions. Early detection can thus prevent a lot of unnecessary harm. Join us in making a difference! Follow us for the latest updates, valuable resources, and inspiring stories. Together, we can combat MASH and MASLD and enhance liver health globally. #FattyLiverMonth #LiverHealth #MASH #MASLD #earlydetection
