Fantastic to see Wirral Council’s EBSA strategy and success with AV1 recognised in the Child of the North/ Centre for Young Lives report on improving school attendance. 'A pilot project with seven Wirral schools who trialled the AV1 in Summer Term 2024 has highlighted the promising applications of the device, with initial data for June 2024 indicating on average a - 21% increase in attendance - 42% increase in the number of hours that pupils engage with learning - 40% increase in the number of hours that pupils engage with social opportunities. Great to see this article published today. At Mayflower High School, their recent attendance campaign is making a real difference. By focusing on relationships and using AV1 robots, they’ve helped students who can’t attend in person stay connected. As Headteacher Mr. Griffin said: "Attendance is the most important thing… but AV1 bridges the gap for those unable to be there. Ferske tall fra Utdanningsdirektoratet bekrefter det skoler og kommuner over hele landet rapporterer om: Skolefravær er et alvorlig problem, som øker. Direktøren i Utdanningsdirektoratet ser økningen i fravær i sammenheng med blant annet svakere læringsresultater og dårlig trivsel. Da Department for Education i Storbritannia finansierte tidenes største forskningsprosjekt på AV1, fant de positive effekter på nettopp disse punktene. Elevene som brukte AV1 holdt tritt med den faglige utviklingen, opplevde bedre psykisk helse, en økt selvtillit og fremtidstro, økt engasjement i egen læring og forbedrede relasjoner til lærere og medelever. Dette hjalp igjen elevene å komme raskere tilbake til ordinær undervisning. Jeg oppfordrer alle skoler og kommuner som er nysgjerrig på hvordan AV1 kan hjelpe dem oppfylle sin plikt til å følge opp fravær om å ta kontakt med oss. Successfully using our AV1 No Isolation robot at RMS for Girls in a year 11 science lesson!
How easy is it to carry an AV1 robot around the school? 🏫 An AV1 robot is less than 30cm tall, and weighs 1.5kg - about the same as a bag of flour. 😦 The robot connects to whichever signal is strongest out of WiFi and 4G. 📶 It has a carry handle, which makes it easy to pick up and move around 🚶♂️& the classroom. AV1 also comes in its own bespoke backpack - it fits neatly inside. 🎒 This means it can be carried around to other classrooms, to the lunch hall, or even on school trips. 🏕️ So absent students can join in all parts of school life. 💚 #school #av1robot #noisolation #av1robots #attendancematters #students #backtoschool #classroom #features
