Norsk Hydro

Hydro has started construction of a flagship aluminium recycling plant in Torija, Spain. This EUR 180 million investment will strengthen Europe’s circular economy by keeping more post-consumer scrap in the loop. ♻️ The plant will have an annual capacity of 120,000 tonnes of low-carbon, recycled aluminium—saving both energy and emissions. By 2026, we’ll be creating new jobs and serving key industries like transport, automotive, and construction. We’re back at Milan Design Week with a new chapter of groundbreaking design. This year, we challenged ourselves to source and produce within a 100 km radius—from local scrap to stunning design objects. 🌍✨ Norwegian designer Lars Beller Fjetland is in charge of art direction, bringing with him more than 10 years of experience with working closely with some of the top brands and manufacturers in furniture.   The R100 designers are Sabine Marcelis, Keiji Takeuchi, Cecilie Manz, Daniel Rybakken, and Stefan Diez.   Want to know more about the R100 project?
