    VG kicks off new sports podcast "Fotballpodden" 🎙️⚽ VG - Verdens Gang AS is stepping up its sports game with the launch of "Fotballpodden", a new podcast giving football fans everything from the latest news to in-depth analysis. Hosted by Ida Høidalen, head of video at VG’s sports department, the podcast promises to be a go-to source for everything football—local and global. – We want to become the go-to source for football news and analysis, whether you want to have it all or just want to catch the main highlights, Ida says. ⚽ Ida will be joined as a host by football commentator Vegard Aulstad and reporter Mats Arntzen. 📺 The podcast is largely video-based, available not only for listening on Podme, but also to watch on VGTV and VG’s social channels. 🏅 Frode Buanes, sports editor at VG, says by hopefully reaching a wide audience of passionate football fans, the podcast will strengthen VG’s position as a leader in sports journalism.     This August, Martina Göransson stepped into the role as CEO for Podme! Learn her favourite podcasts, her summer and why she would have liked to work as the office barista for one day below 👇 💬 What are you most excited about when it comes to Podme? The commitment to rethinking the audio industry with top-notch content, storytelling and interesting business model. I'm also super impressed by Podme’s growth journey so far and the team is absolutely amazing 🌟The sustainability aspect of audio media is another big thing for me. It’s a low-resource medium but has incredible value and longevity. 💬 What have you been up to this summer? This summer, I’ve been hanging out with my husband, Fredrik, and our two teenagers at our summer house in Österlen, Skåne. Our kids have been busy working as waiters at a local restaurant, which means Fredrik and I have had plenty of time to catch up with friends and enjoy lots of sports. We love playing tennis, padel tennis, and golf together. And Fredrik is into kitesurfing which is absolutely not my cup of tea 🥶 💬 Any favourite podcasts to recommend? The list at Podme is long, very long so hard to pick just one. My favorite podcasts are personal documentaries and biographies, where I get to "know" someone. I've spent most of the summer with my headphones on, and if I have to pick a few, I'll start with recommending Podme Dokumentär, Underbara Bobby and Rättsfallen med Jens Lapidus. But there is so much quality content to listen to so it's a hard to choose. And on a sidenote, if you want to hear my own podcast performance, I participated in Killander & Björk around three years ago 🤭 💬 If you could switch job with a colleague at Schibsted Media, who would it be and why? I think I would start with one day as a barista in the all the offices. Why? Because who wouldn't want the power to make everyone's favourite morning coffee exactly how they like it? Plus, I would get the opportunity to have a chat with everyone and hopefully gain some useful insights.     How would you feel about a news product that analyses your reactions in real time and adjusts the news content to your emotional state? 🗞️ The idea for the fictional product above emerged from a five-day design sprint hosted by IN/LAB and Schibsted News Destination Engineering. Molly Grönlund Müller and Belenn Rebecka B. from Schibsted Media’s IN/LAB share their experience co-creating prototypes and ideas with groups of young people, imagining what the future of news could look like. Here are three takeaways from their experience with co-creation involving young people: 🌍 IN/LAB has partnered with young users across Sweden and Norway to ensure their perspectives are woven into the development of the future of news. 💡 Innovation meets inclusion. "IN" stands for more than just innovation; it represents inclusion, the driving force behind experiments to create news that genuinely connects with all audiences. 🎧 So many exciting ideas are explored during these co-creation sessions: imagine news presented in a mindfulness app to increase consciousness, or news delivered as lyrics to AI-generated music!     Young Journalist Award makes space for fresh journalistic talent and perspectives 🚀🌟 The Young Journalist Award has been presented since 2019 by Aftonbladet, Mobile Stories and Mediekompass. Aftonbladet’s Lina Dawood, who’s on the jury, thinks initiatives like these give young journalists a chance to shed light on topics that concern them. – The Young Journalist Award is a platform to at least give young people a chance to be seen and heard – and to draw attention to topics that they feel the media never addresses, Lina says. Students based in Sweden from sixth grade up to the third year of high school to compete with entries in the form of news articles, opinion pieces, podcasts, or videos, and may win: 🏆 10,000 SEK in prize money 🗞️ Their piece published in the largest newspaper in the Nordics Guuled Mohamed won last year with his article on the frisking of young people in Järva. – Before, I didn’t want to be a journalist, but now I see how important and fun this work is. Now I want to become a journalist, he says. The competition is now open again for submissions, with a deadline of November 13th.     Meet Jørgen Lybeck Hansen, a Developer in Schibsted Marketplaces who's been part of our team for 2.5 years. His journey from a solo frontend developer to leading a Nordic-wide team is incredibly inspiring. Let's get to know him a bit better! 💬 What’s your job like, Jørgen? I work in advertising as a developer and one of the most exciting parts of my job has been reinventing our entire tech stack. It's been a rewarding journey, from being a solo frontend developer to working with a team on a unified codebase. We're currently transitioning from Microsoft to Google ad servers, which involves a complete architecture change—a challenging but fun project that's setting us up for faster development in the future. 💬 What's a typical day in your life at Schibsted Marketplaces? Given that advertising touches everything, I usually bounce between different codebases—on an average day, I might work on 2-6 but on a busy day, that could jump to 10-12. There's always something to do and I never realised how much work goes into maintaining advertising systems! I often collaborate with Nordic teammates or handle platform upgrades but sometimes I get to focus on a single task, which is really satisfying. 💬 What do you like most about working within Schibsted Marketplaces? I joined FINN (part of Schibsted Marketplaces) because of its strong developer culture. Despite being part of a large organisation, the office atmosphere feels laid-back. I appreciate the flexibility in our tasks and the freedom to create our web development setups. Plus, no need for uptight dress codes here! 🕺 💬 What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee?     How can fresh perspectives make news more trustworthy?✨ This summer, IN/LAB hosted young innovators from F1RSTcommunity in a design sprint exploring how to make news more trustworthy. The talented group started by learning all about Schibsted Media's Trust Driver Study, and then worked in a facilitated program to prototype future news services based on three identified key drivers: ☝Credibility of process ☝ Credibility of content ☝ Personal relevance. Supported by Schibsted-coaches in UX, journalism and product strategy, the participants created speculative prototypes that raises big questions. What if newsrooms could bring users along their reasoning process in a more transparent way? What if we would highlight the degree of information and/or source certainty through smart product features? And what if you could curate your own recommendation algorithm? – Coming with fresh perspectives on journalism, our young innovators' ideas and questions are key examples of the importance of exploring possible futures together with people not currently working in news. Just because our industry has worked or looked a certain way in the past does not mean that is the ideal form going forward, says Agnes Stenbom, Head of IN/LAB & Trust Initiatives. I feel that I have an important public duty. Can you describe a typical day at work? A typically stressful day can be when we have several major news events happening at the same time. If you could work in a different role, what would that be? Originally, I am actually a photographer, so if I could change jobs, I would choose that. What was your summer like?
