A breath of fresh air in Oslo 🌱 Oslo's ferry transformation isn't just a project; it's a powerful demonstration of how collaboration delivers on big climate goals. The proof is in the experience. Passengers and crew are experiencing a real difference – quieter, smoother journeys, and a better work environment. Electric propulsion has made a huge impact. Critically, this project is also making a real dent in greenhouse gas emissions. The electric ferries in Oslofjord, alongside the Nesoddbåtene, are tangible examples of how zero-emission technology is improving urban living. Talk about a power-up 🔋 We're proud to have played a key role in the delivery of Arriva Shipping's general cargo bulk carrier, M/V Nor Viking. Built at Dayang Shipyard, this DWT 8,264 vessel is equipped with large battery packs (1456 kWh) that enable it to enter and leave harbors, and perform cargo operations, with zero emissions – a game-changer for reducing emissions and noise pollution in the short-sea cargo sector. Arriva Shipping is quickly becoming a leader in sustainable maritime transport, with another dry cargo vessel, complete with a 2 MW battery hybrid system, underway. Together we're helping to create a future where ships leave only ripples, not emissions. That's a powerful thought. #HybridPower #BatteryPower #GreenTech #MaritimeTechnology #CleanShipping

The e-SEAMatic® journey started with a simple idea: make life easier and safer for ship owners and operators. We began by retrofitting existing vessels, getting our hands dirty and learning firsthand what challenges our customers faced. "In the early stages, we worked mainly with retrofits," remembers Otto Koch, COO at SEAM. "This hands-on experience was invaluable - and remains invaluable to this day". We knew that the best way to build a great product was to work with the people who would actually be using it. "Many of the functionalities were developed together with the customer," explains Koch. This collaborative approach helped us create a system that truly met real-world needs. We kept working with the customer and end-users, keeping the features our customers loved, added new ones they asked for, and constantly improved the platform based on their feedback. "Our main focus in the early stages", says Product developer, Torgeir Rasmussen, "was to ensure resilience and reliability in the product". 15+ years, and 400 deliveries later, we celebrate the next generation e-SEAMatic® automation platform, catering to the future of maritime operations. To celebrate the legacy of e-SEAMatic®, and it's rich history, we had a chat with the people who have been a part of its development since its infancy in 2007. Let's hear what they have to say about it, and what the future of maritime automation holds 👇 #Automation #MaritimeTechnology #GreenTech #MaritimeTech #MaritimeFuture

A voyage on board Future of The Fjords is like no other... This is where elegance meets zero-emission technology. Built in 2017, Future of The Fjords is built for eco-friendly tourism, and is one of the world's first all-electric, zero-emission passenger vessels. Accommodating up to 400 passengers, this carbon fiber catamaran - designed and built by Brødrene Aa for The Fjords DA - offers clean and silent experiences to its passengers and crew. Aside from the fully electric e-SEAMatic® system on board, the vessel utilizes a unique charging solution (the "PowerDock") that allows it to "bleed" power from the local grid network gently, minimizing disruption. 𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 e-SEAMatic® BLUE (fully electric vessel) • e-SEA® Maneuver • e-SEAMatic® IAS and EPMS • e-SEA® Drives • e-SEA® Switchboards • e-SEA® Transformers • e-SEA® Motor - Main Propeller, electric • e-SEAMatic® Shore Charging stations • DNV-GL Notation Battery (Power) We would never (publicly) choose a favorite project, but if we had to, this would likely be very high on the list 🔵 #ZeroEmission #GreenMaritime #GreenTech #EcoTourism #MaritimeInnovation

Yesterday, construction started on the world's largest battery-electric bulk carrier, BRF Froan. Berge Rederi As's groundbreaking vessel will operate on both batteries and rotor sails, reducing an estimated 9 000 tons CO2 and 200 tons NOx... and aprox. 15 MNOK in fuel expenses, annually ⭐ Covering 230 nautical miles, MV Froan will sail completely emission-free with its 23,5 MWh battery packs and two 24m x 4m rotor sails, between Brønnøysund and Elnesvågen. It's a one-of-a-kind vessel. And a one-of-a-kind project - which we are proud to be a part of. – This is about innovation and new solutions, and we want to put something on the agenda here at home. That's why there will a great deal of equipment from Norwegian suppliers. After all, we all know that there are few who can compete with Norwegian maritime technology, says GM Magne Berge in an interview with Kystens.no. Being an early adopter can be challenging, but as Magne says in the interview, "someone has to be first", and we are confident this vessel will light the way for more fully electric bulk carriers and cargo vessels in the future 🔵 Image credit: Berge Rederi AS. #ZeroEmissions #GreenTech #MaritimeTechnology #BatteryElectric #NorwegianTech
