The U.S. tourism sector was well represented at the Discover America Roadshow, including states, cities, national parks, theme parks, and travel service providers. Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Eric Meyer and the U.S. Commercial Service supported the event organized in collaboration with Brand USA, and enjoyed inspiring conversations with participants who showed us all the great destinations Norwegian travelers can visit during any season of the year. 🛫🌎 #BrandUSA #DiscoverAmerica #VisitTheUSA

We traveled to Svalbard and met KSAT – Kongsberg Satellite Services Director of Strategy and Partnership Amber G. and MA Student Researcher at The University Centre in Svalbard Oliver Rapp. Did you know that SvalSat is the world's largest ground station? The data retrieved from #KSAT allows researchers like Rapp to understand and improve the tools they use to measure climate change and changing glaciers. 🔬🏔️ "Visiting SvalSat was very impressive, and all the work that they do there for everybody on the planet." – Chargé d'Affaires a.i. It’s great seeing how Atlantic Salmon is being cultured and grown in Norway. The U.S. is an increasingly important market for Norwegian salmon exports as global demand for seafood continues to grow. 🐟 Thank you to the SalMar team for the warm welcome. 🤗 #Seafood #Salmon #NorthernNorway

Wow! UiT- The Arctic University of Norway has exchange agreements with 16 🇺🇸 universities and research institutions. 🫶 🎓 It’s great to see the continued collaboration between Norwegians and Americans. Thank you Jan-Gunnar Winther, Pro-Rector at UiT, for the warm welcome and fruitful discussions. 🤗 #Education #Researach #UiT #Arctic #USNorway
Did you know that UiT has exchange agreements with 16 American universities and research institutions? 🇺🇸 This was an important topic when Eric Meyer, the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires ad Interim in Norway, visited UiT's Tromsø Campus on September 25. Meyer was received by Jan-Gunnar Winther, the Pro-rector at UiT. The Fulbright Program and the UArctic (University of the Arctic) north2north (n2n) program was highlighted during the visit. These are important drivers of exchanges, fostering educational and cultural ties between Norway and the US. "The American interest in expanding educational and research collaboration with UiT was clearly evident in today's meeting with the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires. This interest spans across both Northern Norway and Svalbard, covering a wide range of subject areas," Winther states. Other important topics were research on #renewable #energy, #climate monitoring and adaptation, #geopolitics, #marine #bioprospecting, #maritime #law, #health care, emergency #preparedness, and #AI. UiT greatly appreciated Meyer's visit and values our extensive exchange and collaboration with our U.S. partners, which yields benefits in many areas. We look forward to continuing our close dialogue and exploring new opportunities in the future. Photo: Kim Bredesen / UiT. It has almost been 1 year since we opened our office in Tromsø. Our American Presence Officer, Adam VanDervort, reflects on the time he and his family have spent in the beautiful city of Tromsø and the many opportunities that Northern Norway offers. 🎓🎿🐟 "Norway as a whole is a very important partner for the United States, and we should not be guessing at what is important to each other. Understanding the nuances is important, and it is helpful when we can find opportunities for partnerships, not just between governments but also between people." – American Presence Officer Adam VanDervort Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/dY7hegxs
