BRISBANE | As we mark the 2025 International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, Chargé d’Affaires Erika Olson was pleased to visit in Brisbane the Asia-Pacific Headquarters of PsiQuantum – a Californian startup with Australian-born founders. She was thrilled to see the progress as PsiQuantum Australia aims to build the first commercially viable, fault-tolerant quantum computer. This is a great example of the global tech powerhouse of the U.S.-Australian partnership.

BRISBANE | Chargé d'Affaires Erika Olson and Consul General Christine Elder met Royal Australian Navy Commander Rosemarie Apikotoa, Commanding Officer at HMAS Moreton in Brisbane. Their discussion focused on the strategic importance of Queensland in the upcoming Talisman Sabre exercises – the largest bilateral military exercise between the U.S. and Australia. Talisman Sabre will be the largest iteration yet, with 19 nations invited to participate. The exercise is a key opportunity to work with partners from across the region and around the globe.
