How does the lack of a globally recognized ESG target or regulation contribute to a ‘wild west’ scenario among shipping, and what steps could be taken to address this issue? It was encouraging to read Vincent Clerc's update yesterday surrounding the recently concluded International Maritime Organization meeting: "With only six months to reach a consensus on effective measures, it is imperative to make green energy projects economically viable on a Well-to-Wake basis in the short term while at the same time securing a just and equitable transition." But there is much to be done.
