About us

Briscoe Group Limited (BGP) is the holding company for two of New Zealand's most-loved retailers. Our stores operate within two retail sectors, homeware and sporting goods — under the two brand names Briscoes Homeware and Rebel Sport. Most of our team are based in one of our retail stores. Each geographic collection of stores is grouped into a Profit Centre (PC), which is led by a Business or Zone Manager and supported by a team of Retail and Assistant Managers. Every PC is backed by our Distribution Centre and Auckland Support Office. Within our Support Office, we have various support functions, including Merchandising, Operations, Contact Centre, Finance, E-Commerce, IT, Loss Prevention, Audit, Marketing, and Human Resources. At Briscoe Group, we actively live and breathe our values of vision, valuing people, communication, and innovation. We continuously strive to engage with our national and local communities, with a strong focus on our Cure Kids partnership that began in 2004. We are regularly on the lookout for enthusiastic and team-oriented people who love our brands as much as we do! As a member of our team, you will receive retail training, promotional opportunities and a supportive work environment to thrive in. The Briscoe Group team is ready for the 24-Hour Challenge – Starting next week Tuesday! 🙌 In partnership with Cure Kids, we’ve taken on the incredible physical challenge of keeping an exercise machine (bike or treadmill) moving continuously for 24 hours; all in support of Kiwi kids who face challenges every day. The 24 Hour Challenge is all about raising funds, so researchers can continue making important breakthroughs in children’s health. You too can get involved by supporting our team! Text “Rebel” to 305 to make an automatic $3 donation. 📲 Or, donate via our fundraising page: https://lnkd.in/gVkU6-_F

We're in the first stage of piloting the First Move Manual Handling programme!   Designed by Alison Richmond from Provention NZ, First Move aims to reduce Manual Handling injuries in the workplace by instilling good movement habits through immersive learning.   In collaboration with Capability Group Ltd. - we’ve chosen virtual reality as a trusted means of delivering the programme’s content to our team. We’d like to thank both Alison and Capability Group for enabling and supporting the pilot, which has now successfully launched at our Albany sites.   Our people are at the core of our organisation - we pride ourselves in ensuring every team member can go home safely every day. This philosophy is paramount to our team’s wellbeing and we’re excited to expand our training solutions in this area 🎉🎉

Last month's First Foundation awards ceremony was truly a “once-in-a-generation” event. The charity opened its doors to 90 new scholars and celebrated 25 years of giving tertiary education scholarships nationwide – huge milestones 🎉 To date, Briscoe Group has funded 38 First Foundation scholarships. Our organisation takes immense pride in the recognition received by our team members at the ceremony. As we embark on another exciting year with First Foundation, we remain steadfast in our commitment to making a difference.
