Earlier this year, we celebrated the five-year anniversary of Shannon Müller (HSE Coordinator). Shannon started her career with Brosnan as a Personal Assistant. Her role expanded to Executive Assistant and eventually transitioned into her current role in the Health, Safety, and Environment team. With a solid background in compliance and administration, Shannon has played a vital role in overseeing our safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety across the organisation. Alongside her daily responsibilities, Shannon is also pursuing a diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, continuing her commitment to professional development. When asked about her future at Brosnan, Shannon shared that she looks forward to "embracing new opportunities, continuing to expand my knowledge, and making a meaningful impact on our team’s success." Congratulations on your work anniversary, Shannon!

We were honoured to be a part of the FMANZ - Facilities Management Association of New Zealand Te Hui Taumata FM Summit Aotearoa 2024! Over two days, we connected with industry leaders, innovators, and professionals. A special highlight for us was our Chief Commercial Officer, Elizabeth Thorburn’s presentation on Harnessing the Power of Early Engagement: Procurement of Major Projects. Liz explored early engagement's vital role in major project success, sharing Brosnan’s insights gained over the last 14 years – the successful projects that stayed within plans and budgets, highlighting the stark contracts to the all-too-common cost and time overruns. Thank you to everyone who attended and to FMANZ for including us!

We want to thank Body Corporate Chairs Group and Strata Community Association (NZ) for including us in their joint roadshow event in Tauranga earlier this week. It was a great opportunity to connect and learn alongside Body Corporate Chairs, committee members, and managers. Panelists included Anita Reinecke (SCA NZ President), Tim Jones (BCCG National President), and Brosnan’s own Richard Ashton (Principal – Property Solutions). We’re excited to continue these important conversations and support the sector as it evolves.

We’re proud to share that we’ve just achieved a perfect SiteWise score from Site Safe New Zealand Inc. In line with our Health & Safety strategy, we chose to undergo a face-to-face prequalification instead of a document-based desktop exercise. This hands-on approach showcases our commitment to transparency and real-world safety practices. Our first face-to-face evaluation earned us an impressive 97%. We’re incredibly proud to have surpassed that score with our most recent evaluation, which earned a perfect 100%. We don’t just talk about safety. You can see it in action. There’s no better assurance for our clients.

Last month, Brosnan’s Growth and Strategy Analyst, Todd Frank, attended the 2024 Strata Impact Conference. The conference, held on Australia’s Gold Coast, brought together industry professionals to share insights into the complexities and challenges of the strata sector, which mirrors the Body Corporate sector in New Zealand. Over two days, the conference’s speakers and panellists shared their expertise. We were privileged to connect with other professionals and gain valuable insights. Learning from others allows us to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by our multi-unit residential customers. Thanks to Strata Knowledge and Dr. Nicole Johnston for organising a great event.

Located in a growing suburb, Te Rito Harakeke/Marshland School needed more space to accommodate its increasing roll. Brosnan was contracted under a Design and Build delivery model to construct a new classroom block with four large teaching spaces. The project was divided into multiple phases. Stage one involved the initial design of the classroom block, outdoor areas, landscaping, and site works. Stage two covered all construction works, from initial earthworks to handover. Our team carefully managed tight timeframes to deliver the project well ahead of schedule. We worked closely with the client during the design phase to ensure key items, such as the early manufacture of structural steel, were procured early, allowing construction to begin without delay. Throughout the build, classes and school activities continued uninterrupted. To ensure safety and increase project efficiency, we created a temporary road to provide separate access to the site.

She’s also grown through the diverse challenges and opportunities faced in her role. When we asked Tegan what she is looking forward to next in her career with Brosnan she said she’s excited about “implementing initiatives that foster a culture of collaboration, openness, and continuous improvement.
