What a night at the 62nd Halberg Awards! ✨🏆 Last night, we had the privilege of attending New Zealand’s premier sporting celebration - the Halberg Awards. It was an incredible evening honouring the achievements of our athletes, whose dedication and passion continue to inspire the nation. A huge thank you to the Halberg Foundation for not only putting on such a fantastic event but for their ongoing work in promoting inclusion and creating opportunities for all New Zealanders to participate and thrive in sport. Their commitment to breaking down barriers is truly commendable. We’re proud to stand alongside so many in the sporting community who believe in the power of sport to unite, inspire, and create lasting change. Congratulations to all the winners, nominees, and the teams behind them! 👏

A sobering article on the state of grassroots sport in Aotearoa by TVNZ's 1News 📰 📝 Based on a report done by the NZ Amateur Sports Association (NZASA) overall membership at grassroots clubs has grown but the average number of club volunteers has gone from 31 to 18 in the past 5 years and twice as many clubs are losing money vs 2019. The Chairman of the NZASA, Gordon Noble-Campbell, says: 🗣️ "If we don't have a healthy and viable club framework, there is a real risk for the future" "Volunteers are the coaches and the people who put the pads on the goalposts on a Saturday morning, but they're also the administrators responsible for the governance of clubs." Volunteers truly are the lifeblood of grassroots sports. Our vision at CoachMate has always been to make it easier for our volunteers and coaches to deliver great sporting experiences for our kids and to help attract and retain more of them! 💡 We're glad the light has been shone on this issue as it's one we are hugely passionate about, and something we can help address!
