Our Te Muna Sauvignon Blanc has once again been put in the spotlight, and we are thrilled to announce our 2023 release is included in Wine Spectator's list of 'Top Ten Wine Values of 2024'. "One of the most impressive Sauvignon Blancs from New Zealand is this single-vineyard planting... The region's cool climate and intense winds have been optimal for producing muscular Pinot Noirs, yet it turns out these conditions are ideal for Sauvignon Blanc as well, with the grapes' thick, wind-blown skins adding intensity to the wines..." MaryAnn Worobiec, Wine Spectator - 94 Points. Our Te Muna Sauvignon Blanc is a testament to the dedication of our talented viticultural and winemaking team, who take on extreme weather conditions - spring frosts, howling winds and long, dry autumns, to produce wines with aromatic purity and exceptional intensity. #craggyrange #hawkesbay #craggyrangewine #martinboroughwine #sauvignonblanc #WSValuesoftheYear #winespectator #craggyrangewinery

About us
Established in 1998, Craggy Range is a family-owned winery situated in the shadow of the spectacular Te Mata Peak in the premium wine-growing area of Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. With an unrelenting focus on quality, Craggy Range produces a collection of iconic wines from their exceptional estates in Hawke's Bay, Martinborough, and Marlborough. When Craggy Range owners Terry and Mary Peabody first set out to start a winery with world class aspirations, their search quickly brought them to New Zealand. Looking down from Te Mata Peak onto the land where Craggy Range now stands, they were clear that they wanted to create a winery and an experience which truly evoked the unique landscapes and heritage of the region. To ensure a firm commitment, Terry Peabody honoured the original promise of leaving a legacy for the family still to come and established a 1000 year trust, meaning the winery can never be sold. What has followed in the last 20 or so years has been the development of an iconic New Zealand winery which has never lost sight of its sense of place, or its family ties.

We are beyond thrilled to announce that our 2023 Te Muna Sauvignon Blanc has been named No. 11 in Wine Spectactor's prestigious 'Top 100 Wines of 2024'. With ten consecutive vintages scoring 90+ points from Wine Spectator, our Craggy Range Te Muna Sauvignon Blanc has been consistently lifting the bar, exemplifying our pursuit of excellence and passion for crafting a wine which is vibrant, complex and a refreshing expression of its variety and terroir. The Top 100 celebrates wines that demonstrate exceptional quality, value and availability whilst embodying what the publication's editors call the 'X factor'. "Our Sauvignon Blanc showcases the remarkable complexity born from the unique, rugged terroir of our Te Muna Road Vineyard. The combination of stony soils and cool sunny days gives us the distinctive minerality, along with the brisk howling winds that thicken the grape skins, resulting in an unparalleled depth of flavour." - David T. Peabody, Executive Director

Richard Brimer has documented every Craggy Range vintage, spanning 25 years and an impressive 40 vintages in Hawke's Bay. As longtime admirers of his portraits, we are continually impressed by how they encapsulate the individuals behind each harvest. "That nearly wraps the 2024 harvest; so great being with the pickers and love the diverse culture we have in our vineyards, from the RSE crews to the Thai community, backpackers, friends and family and our locals... all creating the rich tapestry of vintage 2024" - Richard

The 2024 Drinks International World's Most Admired Wine Brands were announced last week, and we are honoured to rank 36th, placing in the Top 50 for the fifth consecutive year. Our continuous inclusion on this list further affirms the evolution our teams have implemented in the cellar and vineyards. Our focus on organics and the way in which we care for our land are paramount, and this resonates with our industry. The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands is voted for by a hand-picked academy of sommeliers, buyers, wholesalers, Masters of Wine and writers. “Earning a place on this prestigious list is, therefore, a serious achievement, and I personally congratulate those in our top 50 this year." - Drinks International Editor, Shay Waterworth See the full article here: https://shorturl.at/qCDY5
