  • Honouring St. Patrick’s Day at Fresenius Kabi! 🍀 At Fresenius Kabi Australia and New Zealand we appreciate the unique backgrounds and experiences that each of our team members brings to the table. With St. Patrick’s Day approaching, we’re highlighting Irish culture and heritage by sharing the stories of two of our colleagues, Martin Monaghan and Dónal McGoldrick, who reflect on what this day means to them. 💚 First up is Martin Monaghan — Vice President MedTech Asia Pacific, a proud Irish-Australian. Martin shares: “Growing up in Ireland, St. Patrick's day was always a day that made you proud to be Irish. We all knew the story of St. Patrick and how he had a huge influence on Irish society, culture and of course religion. We all wore sprigs of shamrock in our lapels for the day. It is a national holiday and we all attended morning mass and afterwards continued to enjoy the rest of the day. I spent 10 years in Chicago, US and St. Patrick's day was celebrated with gusto in that city, they dye the river green and have massive parades and parties, in freezing weather! Sydney, Australia also has a strong tradition of celebrating St. Patrick's day and indeed I have marched in the parade here some years ago. St. Patrick's day is a time for reflection on what it means to be Irish and how our country of just 5 million people and the Irish diaspora have a significant influence across the world. Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona duit agus go n-éirí an bóthar leat.” We also spoke with Dónal M. — Senior Specialist Representative - Clinical Nutrition, who shares: “St. Patrick's day, for me, is a celebration of the impact Irish people have had across the globe. For a tiny country of just over 5 million people to have a day that is almost universally recognised and celebrated (think of major landmarks being lit up green - Sydney Opera House, Empire State Building, Christ The Redeemer Statue and The Eiffel Tower), this concept has always baffled me - it makes me immensely proud to be Irish, even more since living on the other side of the world for the past decade. St. Patrick's Day often aligns with the excitement of the Irish rugby team triumphing over England which is always a heart-warming prospect. “ Thank you, Martin and Dónal, for sharing your stories and reminding us of the power of cultural heritage and pride. We are dedicated to cultivating a workplace that embraces equal treatment and opportunities for all, ensuring everyone feels a true sense of belonging — today and every day. 🙌 #StPatricksDay #EqualOpportunities #CulturalHeritage #FreseniusKabiANZ #CommittedToLife

  • Honouring ‘The Man with the Golden Arm’ 💪 For over 60 years, James Harrison OAM—'The Man with the Golden Arm’—generously donated plasma 1,173 times, helping to create an incredible 2.4 million doses of life-saving anti-D for Australian babies. James’ rare antibody has been vital in producing anti-D, a medication given to mothers with Rh-negative blood types to prevent their bodies from attacking their unborn babies’ Rh-positive blood—a truly life-saving gift. We are incredibly proud and humbled that our plasma apheresis machines played an essential role in enabling James’ generous donations. These machines are designed to safely and efficiently collect plasma, ensuring that each donation could be transformed into life-saving treatments for those who need them most. Thank you, James, for your remarkable contribution to saving lives. #PlasmaDonation #LifeSavingMedicine #Inspiration #CommittedToLife
