🚨 Exciting Update on the Australia-Asia PowerLink (AAPowerLink) Project! 🚨 SunCable has just received Conditional Approval from Singapore’s Energy Market Authority, marking a significant step forward for the #AAPowerLink, a visionary project that aims to deliver 1.75 GW of renewable energy to Singapore—meeting 15% of the country's electricity needs. Additionally, 4 GW will power future green industries in #Darwin, #Australia, utilising some of the best renewable resources globally. This transformative project will generate 24/7 clean energy from a mix of #solar and #wind, backed by #storage, and transmitted via a 4,300 km subsea cable. SunCable has already invested AUD$250 million across #Australia, #Singapore, and #Indonesia. This project promises to create thousands of jobs, boost economic growth, and help Singapore achieve its Net Zero goals. Key stakeholders include SunCable International, the Northern Territory Government, Traditional Land Owners, and industrial customers in both Singapore and Australia. SunCable is also fostering partnerships in Indonesia, investing USD$2.5 billion to develop local renewable energy expertise. The Wednesday networking session was a great opportunity to catchup with friends, clients and make some new connections. Like the rest of the world Australia has a big forward workload ahead to meet net zero targets. And like the rest of the world, has challenges with resourcing, planning and approvals, and a transmission grid that needs work. We’re heading to Wellington to celebrate Transpower New Zealand's Engineering and Technology Excellence Awards and we’re excited to catch up with friends and colleagues in the industry. GROUNDLINE are finalists in the ‘Collaboration’ category which recognises: “Collaborative work that results in improved project outcomes, innovation or growth of our engineering and technology capability, or has a significant positive impact on progress towards our energy future.” This nomination is for recognition of our work on the OHW tee fast-tracked line build which was delivered in less than 12 months, instead of the typical 3-4 years - done through extensive collaboration and efficient communication among stakeholders.
