He is a recipient of the Edmund Hillary Fellowship, has experience as a coffee bean roaster in the Netherlands, operated a successful Waffle establishment in Wellington, and as a physiotherapist turned entrepreneur, he founded a company that was at the forefront of introducing standing desks, which were lauded by professors at UC Berkeley as the "world's healthiest desk".
