Meet Garry Ko, one of our new additions to the Executive Committee! He is the Executive Director of RCR Green and RCR Infrastructure. Their role is to develop solar farms to contribute to a cleaner energy future, and to provide essential maintenance services for major New Zealand businesses. Garry is committed to driving positive change through innovative and responsible solutions. Garry joined HKNZBA because he believes in its mission to foster strong business ties between Hong Kong, China - Great Bay Area and New Zealand. As a member of the executive committee, he feels he can “contribute actively to this mission and help facilitate meaningful connections within the community, especially in the realm of sustainable infrastructure. Since becoming a member, HKNZBA has provided him with a valuable network of like-minded professionals and opportunities for personal and professional growth. "I have gained insights into the Hong Kong-New Zealand business landscape, expanded knowledge, and developed leadership skills through my involvement.” Garry highly recommends HKNZBA to any business seeking to expand its reach and engage with the Hong Kong & China Great Bay Area - New Zealand community. The organization offers a supportive environment for networking, collaboration, and accessing valuable resources. He feels it's particularly beneficial for businesses interested in exploring opportunities in the renewable energy and sustainability sectors, as HKNZBA facilitates connections with key players in both countries. “The association's focus on fostering cross-border business relationships is invaluable in today's globalized economy.” Meet Garry at our upcoming events! #HKNZBA #networking #BusinessGrowth #hongkong #businessassociation #relationships #community #members #internationalbusiness #newzealandhongkong

Hong Kong's economic recovery is gradual but positive since the decline from Covid. Growth slowed from 3.5% in 2022 to 3.2% in 2023, and further to 2.7% in 2024. Exports and imports increased by 6.7% and 3.2%, respectively. The 2024 GDP forecast is at 2.5-3.5%. Hong Kong's budget focuses on boosting business confidence, innovation, and infrastructure in the Greater Bay Area. For New Zealand, Hong Kong remains a key market for high-quality, sustainable products and a gateway for re-exporting goods to mainland China.
