  • We’re pleased to have played a part in delivering Te Pureoranga – Waikato Regional Renal Centre at Waikato Hospital, a purpose-built dialysis facility in Kirikiriroa Hamilton.   Designed with sustainability and cultural principles at its heart, the 3,200m² centre provides a modern and supportive space for patients, whānau, and clinical staff. With 56 dialysis treatment spaces, consultation rooms, and whānau areas, it represents a significant step forward for renal care in the Waikato region.   RDT Pacific provided Quantity Surveying services, supporting cost management and procurement from business case development through to construction completion. Working closely with project partners, we helped navigate financial and logistical challenges to support the delivery of the facility on budget and to a high standard.   Te Pureoranga is targeting a 5 Green Star rating, reflecting a strong commitment to sustainable and future-proofed healthcare infrastructure.   Ngā mihi to Health New Zealand | Waikato and all those involved in bringing this project to life.   🔗 Learn more about this project ➡ https://lnkd.in/gCKswdqY 📰 Read the Waikato Times article➡ https://lnkd.in/gi4eKbf2 Seán O'Brien MNZIQS Laura Johns #QuantitySurveying

In commemorating and celebrating International Women's Day, we caught up with Miko Brouwer, Associate Director + Hamilton Manager for RDT Pacific and valued Property Council Diversity & Inclusion committee. 💜 The past year has seen the committee refine their purpose and focus their energies on the first and most obvious challenges faced by the property industry; gender inequality. We talked with Miko about women who bring their authentic selves to their roles, recognising the value and unique perspective that women add to the workforce, and sound advice to give your 18-year-old self. Read more: https://lnkd.in/g3zePUSt Together we can forge gender equality. Collectively for #IWD2025 we can all #AccelerateAction. #propertycouncilnz

Our own Simon Wilson and Miko Brouwer had a fantastic time supporting Te Ari Prendergast in a thought-provoking discussion on Design and Identity: Healing Through Indigenous Knowledge and Ritual. They explored how Indigenous knowledge shapes design, its role in healing, and the balance between tradition and modern technology. A great session with powerful insights! 🙌 Thanks Jen Jones and the amazing team at Auckland Design Week.

𝗪𝗮𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲 – 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴! 🎭🏗️   Exciting progress is happening at the Waikato Regional Theatre site in Kirikiriroa Hamilton, with several key milestones now in place. This project is steadily taking shape, thanks to the dedication and teamwork of so many involved.   🏗️ The last of the structural steel is now in place – over 500 tonnes of structural steel has been used. 🏗️ The second (and final) tower crane comes down – a major step towards making the building watertight. 🏛️ First part of the heritage façade exposed – offering a glimpse into the theatre’s rich history. 🌆 Now a defining feature in the cityscape, the site is becoming more prominent as progress continues.   More than just a theatre, this project also includes the restoration of the historic Hamilton Hotel and the reimagining of surrounding public spaces, including Embassy Park.   Kudos to the RDT Pacific team - Graeme Ward and Georgia Osman for their outstanding work on this project, and the many others from our team who have supported them. A huge thank you to our partners Waikato Regional Property Trust, Momentum Waikato Community Foundation, Hamilton City Council, Foster Group Ltd, Charcoalblue, Jasmax, Holmes Aus & NZ, and Kingstons, whose expertise and commitment are bringing this vision to life.   Ngā mihi nui to everyone contributing to this journey!   📸 Render courtesy of Jasmax.

How can design heal? @warrenmahoney’s Te Ari Prendergast explores this question by examining the role of healing, ritual, and knowledge in design. From restoring mātauranga Māori to integrating Indigenous practices with modern technologies, this talk highlights how design can mend past injustices, restore connections to the land, and revitalise cultural traditions. Drawing parallels with Indigenous approaches worldwide, including Australia, Japan and South America, Te Ari shares how design processes can heal not only communities but also the designers themselves, creating a foundation for a more inclusive and sustainable future. A powerful way to end our Design Conference, before moving into the Lexus Evening Soirée. Link in bio for tickets, act fast to secure the early bird price. Tomorrow ticket prices increase by $50!

On Monday 3rd February, Te Tii Marae in Waitangi celebrated the reopening of its whare tūpuna, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, after extensive repairs and restoration. This site holds national significance with the land nearby being where He Whakaputanga, the Declaration of Independence, was signed in 1835. We are honoured to have been invited and part of the dawn ceremony. Ka rawe!   The restoration included replacing of the roof, extending the mahau (verandah) and waharoa (gateway), creating a new shelter for locals and visiting groups, enhancing the landscaping around the marae ātea, and earthquake strengthening to future-proof for generations to come. The facade of the whare and waharoa features intricate carvings, while the interior has additional carvings, tukutuku panels, plush seating, and new carpeting.   RDT Pacific served as Project Advisors and Engineer to the Contract on this significant project. • 📢 As the construction industry adapts to NZS 3910:2023, significant shifts in contract administration are shaping how projects are delivered. Our Technical Director, Mike Hanson, shares his expert insights in The Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors Built Environment Economist magazine, providing a detailed analysis of these changes. In his article, Mike examines the redefinition of the Engineer to the Contract (EtC) role into two distinct functions: the Contract Administrator (CA) and the Independent Certifier (IC). He explores the benefits, challenges, and practical implications for project delivery - from addressing impartiality concerns to navigating cost considerations and potential complexities. 🔗 Explore the Built Environment Economist feature: https://lnkd.in/gBq_Gg6t 🔗 Read more about Mike’s insights on our website: https://lnkd.in/gbsM-CPA At RDT Pacific, we’re proud to contribute to the ongoing conversation around improving contract management practices in Aotearoa’s construction sector. • This incredible development in Kirikiriroa Hamilton will redefine the city's landscape. The overall development of circa $100m is three collaborative initiatives being delivered simultaneously - the world class Theatre, the restoration of the old Hamilton Hotel with a commercial development, and the re-imagining of the surrounding public spaces, including Embassy Park. As Project Manager, we’re working alongside Waikato Regional Property Trust, Momentum Waikato Community Foundation, Hamilton City Council, Foster Group Ltd, Charcoalblue, Jasmax, Holmes Aus & NZ and Kingstons to bring the Waikato Regional Theatre to life.

Take a look behind the scenes at construction of the new Waikato Regional Theatre. It’s going to be incredible. The 1,300-seat lyrical theatre is designed so the experience and sound are consistent no matter where you sit, and the adjustable stage ensures it feels full and immersive even with smaller audiences. What’s really special about the circa $100 million build is that the funding has involved many partners from local government, central government, community trusts, business, philanthropy, and everyday locals contributing. It's a real team effort. It’ll be opening later this year. Can’t wait.
